what's a fowl?

Hmmm thought that would be the fitting bird in English. Oh well, it is called Pfau in German.

Cool. I ask again, what's a fowl(pfau)??? What is it?

That would be a peacock then. Although I highly question your train of thought from egg shapes to a peacock.

I'd say that both the egg and the chicken are nothing but lies, and only exist to irritate me.

As I said, it was a wild guess... I have run out of crazy ideas and theories so /give up on this one for me.

Chicken would be the one comin out first, it's written in that damn history book(i believe it's called the bible), in Genesis 1:21, it's stated that God created "every winged fowl after his kind" and later in Genesis 1:22, it's stated that God "blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply", therefore the chickens had sex later on and then come forth the "egg".

I think I figured out the answer. Not any answer, your answer you mentioned earlier.

You're basically saying that the whole question is one big paradox. (Which is rather lame for a riddle if you ask me.)

The egg cannot exist without the chicken, nor can the chicken without the egg. Your answer states that there is no answer to this question.

That was actually my first idea on that matter, but I didn't give it that much thought at first since it's not even a real answer - more like a wrong question.

Again. The answer has to be somewhat neutral...

what do u mean by a "neutral" answer, that's the best it ever gets, God got bored, so he created chickens(just for the sake of argument), then he thought it'd be a good idea to make them reproduce through the method of laying eggs, so there u have it, chicken first then egg

if chicken's not first then egg is(the riddle only got 2 answers, unless u made up the third one just to throw us off)

The answer is two chickens. You need both a male and a female chicken too make an egg.

What it basically is: an irresolvable contradiction.

There are cases of 'seeming contradictions'*, with the paradox being it not being a paradox at all. It basically solves an irresolvable contradiction through a solution in conflict with common sense. I think the right term for it would be aporia.

And I guess this is what this whole riddle is about.

Aporia is a term apparently used for this specific case of paradox I just described.

It's basically ancient greek, meaning 'lack of resources'.

i have come up with several different ways to interpret ur question to its various meanings

Chicken or egg, which came first?

since if u look at it as a paradox, it would never make sense, uzu's so-called riddle pointed out that its meaning can be interpreted differently and should be outside the box.

1. "came", it's obvious that the egg couldn't "cum" as we speak, so in this sense, chicken wins

2. "which came first", if there was to be a race of some sort between the two, it would make sense to ask "which came first" or "which is in the first place", and also related to ur not-so-useful hint, it had to do with the shape, chicken ain't got any other shapes than the shape of a fukkin chicken, so the hint is obviously applied to egg's "round" shape, combining this with the previous clue of "having a race of some sort", it would depend on the "obstacle course" to which they would "race" on to decide the "first" place of the two, exactly y i asked about the location question, the altitude of the location therefore decides the winner, since egg is "round" , it would roll much faster downwards in the case where the course goes downwards, however, if we consider the course to be going upwards, egg's "round" shape does not allow it to "roll" upwards, therefore in that sense the chicken would've "come" in the first place.
