So there's no net gain to life. You enjoy parts, dislike some parts. But the thing that makes it meaningful is the impact it makes on other things. Of course those will some day fade as well, but until they do they have some meaning.

Why do you dismiss some fleeting things not as gain but accept some other fleeting things as gain? What's your criteria in deciding between them?

Well, that's the problem. As you know, I tend to be lethargic and/or carefree with things. But since He just had to open my personal Pandora's Box I had every reason to not trust my decision making facilities at the moment. I am glad I can do that split thinking thing we talked about way back, but I don't think I can last.

Oh I'm accepting them all as gain, just the fact that some last longer than others. Everything in life is fleeting, just to what duration those things stick around for is what changes. That and the severity.

@Fallan: As someone who goes through depression regularly, and ends up thinking of ways to kill himself a few times a month(looked up gun stores in the area last week), it'll pass. It might take a while, but eventually you're get back into the swing of things and you'll feel better sooner or later. Just keep going and you'll see some non-depressive times agin.

Hm. Not much can be said since I don't know what's in there but can you say any way to go on now that it's open? Or, is it one of those cases where you don't even want to go on once revealed?

Happens to me quite often. I hate to be dismissive like this, but since you don't seem willing to share what was inside the box, all I can say is that you need not worry, knowing you I think you'll pull through.

My reasons are my own, and my outlook on them is as well. My distinction and your distinction are two different things entirely and I don't presume that they would match up in any event. Doesn't matter my reasoning, I'm rational on some things and irrational on others, circumstances circumstances circumstances. It's all relative to something or another.
