Jeez, with that kind of policy, I wouldn't be surprised to see your boys running AKs they got from dead insurgents in Afghanistan or even pay out of their own wallets to acquire arms from underground markets. Sadly some people who aren't cut out for it are placed to run it.
Back on an old topic, I once mentioned something about Human Rights Watch activists going about against 'killer robots'. Seems like the UN is jumping on the bandwagon as a professor part of the UN Human Rights Commission has written a 22 page report on these alleged "lethal autonomous robots" or LARs. Apparently because these automatic machines cannot differentiate from civilians and combative targets, they are a big deal and
Professor Heyns wrote...
“If used, they could have far-reaching effects on societal values, including fundamentally on the protection and the value of life and on international stability and security.”
He goes on to say that nations who wish to implement these LARs should provide "considerable proof" as to why they should be used.
Also with the UN, now that Mali is slowly becoming more and more of a war zone, it seems that they'll be sending Peacekeepers there to relieve the French forces who've been fighting since January. Small number of the French boys will be staying as part of an offensive force but these Peacekeepers will also be in on the action, being more of an 'intervention' force rather than peacekeepers since there is no peace to keep. Really wish the commanders here send me up with our portion of Peacekeepers.
