Touhou Game Club

It is a hypothesis I made, so I can't say she's "sheltered" for certain.

Not really a doppelganger. A Shadow is rather a complete opposite of your personality.

But seeing that she created a club to seek paranormal, she certainly seems to be lacking something in her life.

No, I didn't mean she can "create" reality, although I suppose it's an extremely simplified version of it.
It links to a belief, that magic, faith and all that exist only if people want and actively acknowledge it's existence. But if people cede believing, then that power fades, hence "Clap your hands if you believe trope".

It certainly is a case with Gensokyo, because most supernatural residents fled there because their power waned in our world due to people ceasing to believe in them.

In such a case, if Maribel would arrive in a Gensokyo, but she would believe it is a dream, it would be only that - a dream. But if she had chosen to recognize it as real world, it would become real - she would 'clap' her hands.

Perhaps by sheer luck (or some vague scheme), Maribel is more sensitive when it comes for this. Perhaps so much that her (would-be, it's only a theory remember) hidden desires for paranormal - which is denied in a way by her conscious self and rest of the world - would create an entire dimensions where these phenomena could exist. It would also explain why Gensokyo is a world, but it's not a clear "opposite" world: Because it's largely dependent on Maribel's (and by extension, world's) believes, major changes in the world will still impact Gensokyo despite being different world. For example, if everyone would believe in Lunarians and their magic, then I'm certain that Kaguya and her entourage would disappear from Gensokyo and reappear on our Moon. If it was a completely separate, such precedents would (probably) happen.

Assumption goes too far there, Roommate. It sounds like you created your own Gensokyo. But hey, all fans theory do the same as well lol.

Truth to be told,
If i am in Maribel/Yukari's place ..

* I would create my other self as the strongest being. Not putting someone like Eiki who rumored to be one of the strongest being (who knows)



Stronger being than the God itself can be considered as a threat. Or maybe Yukari doesn't want anybody to know her 'actual' role in Gensokyo ? No, i don't think so. I mean, i cannot see any reason for her to do so.

In short, i will order the world to revolve around me. Because it's my 'playground', right ? I have right to do as i wish.

I admit that you have an interesting theory there. Even though there is no/lacking official proofs, but your assumption is (more than) enough to be the basic structure of it. Much appreciated. I really meant it.

Ooh, the gif banner is a good idea as well, (especially since I just figured out how to make them). That way we wouldn't be restricted to using one character.

I'd like to announce (temporary) requirements for banner-making contest:

. Only members allowed to participate;
. I will not participate in contest;
. There's no prize for winner except 'bragging rights';
. Winner will be decided via voting;
. Voting will be open for public.
. Contestant can't vote his/her own creation;
. Themes for this contest are: Reimu&Marisa, Reimu&Yukari or Renko&Maribel, pick one;
. Maximum measurement are: 125 for height and free for width;
. Maximum file size is: 500 KiloBytes;
. Allowed file types are: .jpg, .png and .gif;

Well, that's my plan. Any objections or ideas? Please note that it's still a temporary requirements and still can be changed.

I think it's really good, but about the theme should be the favorite character you like, and the size. But I don't mind, it's Touhou afterall
