Thats an interesting description though, I thought your tastes were more towards the cat Ohh, a spell-card that's derived from one of my favorite characters. It also seems to be the child from my favorite spell-card in soku, Flying Grow Worm's Nest, judging from the name only. Thought I ever told you that Subterranean Animism is like a gold, except for its gameplay, which doesn't seem to stick well with my preferences no matter how creative it is. The characters are great and possibly having deeper meaning than what they are showing. The scenario of you bumping a totally random purposeless character is non-existent in SA, they are there because they have reasons to.
That said, I like all of SA's characters, with special spots reserved for Koishi, Parsee, and Satori.

Your Yukari fandom is showing. Been reading "Subterranean Animism" as "Subterranean Aminism" up until today. The gameplay in SA is one of my favorites overall because its more "true" danmaku. "True" is used there because theres no glaring specials (trance, UFO's) a lack of weird looking bullets (curvy lasers, amulets) and most of the spellcards can be done with brute force (read, dodge, read). Probably should play it on normal eventually.

I don't know if I'd celebrate her return or not. Sakuya's or to the extend, SDM casts absence in the recent story arc doesn't really hit me hard.

Still, I hope 13.5 could bring the end to 'moriya arc' that's been going since MoF, so we can move into a new story arc in Touhou 14.

If you want a brute force solution, then perhaps Mountain of Faith is right up your alley.

A new story in 14 would be great. Moriya Masquerade (MM - yes I'm calling it that) will probably have Sanae as playable as well as a Taoist and Buddhist, aside from the usual pair. If we are lucky Byakuren will be playable, I don't see anyone else at her temple really getting positive reviews from humans. As for the Taoist, I'm going with Futo.
Despite all that, Kanako, Byakuren, and Miko all playable would be fine great too.
Sadly I'm confident Remi and everyone in the SDM will want nothing to do with this story

It actually does look interesting and disturbing at the same time.
Since you grind in the goddess' level, then may I assume that you're expert in Virtue of Wind God handling ? That card is undoubtedly the only terror from MoF, excluding its extra stage.

The hearts are nice. They look like set pattern so its just a matter of figuring out the hitbox they have. The partially exploding bullets are just....get out Koishi.
I'm not by any means. Never cleared it without dying or bombing. I'm at expert level on TD spellcards only.

I wasn't referring to how you could get past it without getting killed, it was more about the shape since it's rather alarming, if you catch my drift.
But that's fine, at least you have a specific favorite game in term of gameplay.

The games are more informative without it. SA in particular, the sound effects on hard and normal mode make life easier when you dont have the practiced confidence to look up or down and see where the target is. Satori's recollection of Yukari's spellcard is pretty fun to play when not really looking. Kind of like Fantasy Seal -Spread- in IN but with less "feel" and like Guze Flash from TD but with more "look".

Suwako doesn't have any connection with frogs, she just likes them.
My reasoning is because Suwako is laid back. She enjoys competing against others. Though she feigns ignorance, Suwako is just as capable of scheming as Kanako, and her intentions can be hard to read.
You're like... little over half-like her... that's why I said "and maybe Suwako"...
But, It's definitely really close between Eirin and Yuyuko, though as I learn more about Eiki, she's getting rather close as well.

But you missed something, Suwako feigned ignorance due to the circumstance and her status in Moriya shrine ever since Kanako overthrown her throne in less-public manner. While she might be responsible for the reasoning behind Kanako's plots, she is in no way participated directly in the most of the latter's plans' execution. Just like her title in Wild and Horned Hermit, Suwako is a god in-name only.
It's not like you were exactly wrong about me though. Keep it rolling, you're already on a proper track.
