[color=#006FFF]While this doesn't effect me directly, I would like to chime in and say that I'm behind Pump on this one on the grounds that if a character's true identity is a spoiler (and therefore not known by all and any reading/playing/watching what the character is from) then it should not be a required name in the character's claim. Especially when the character is in something that isn't 5+ years old and we can just assume the masses know the spoiler (e.g. Darth Vader being Anakin Skywalker).

I know it's essentially rendered void for this game, with it having new rules, but I'd also like to use the fact that I claimed someone with a major spoiler being their true name and only referred to her as the name she is called through the anime/manga/game she is from until a certain point because that's her name.

It's not fair to have a totally sound claim rendered invalid simply because the person doing so didn't say their true name as well as the alias out of respect for others who aren't aware of said true name when it's a spoiler for the series. It's even more unjust when the person claiming wasn't aware of the character's name because it actually is a spoiler in the series/game and they haven't reached the point of it being revealed just yet.

Does the person now have to reach a certain point in a series/game before making a claim of their favorite character just to make sure they're calling them by all names that could be attached to them--spoiler or not? That's bullshit.

For the most part I agree if its the initial name given in the series and it isnt stated it is an alias then it should be legit in addition she was claimed before the episode stating her real name was aired.

What I disagree with is that even if its a spoiler if you know it then put it in your post thats what the spoiler tag is for.

While that's true, some might argue that this is an old spoiler by now, considering Danganronpa debuted as a game almost 3 years ago. To the people who've been following it for so long, it should not really be news.

Then again, the game only did get recently translated and patched, and it's a known fact that very few users of the site can speak Japanese enough to get the game.

Sorry to bother, but I agree with Pumpjack wholeheartedly. I think something like a true name, or anything that isn't immediately revealed (and especially if it is something that is supposed to be a hidden aspect of the story, I.E. a story spoiler) it shouldn't have to be declared. I'd assume, considering how new the anime is and how many people are watching it instead of playing the game, there's alot that people shouldn't be aware of quite yet.

And even if you talk about the reason behind declaring real names, I had assumed that was to identify people with duplicate or similar names. If you look at the Fate series, there are 12 canon characters called "Saber". We declare their real names to validate which one we are attempting to claim.

When it's obvious who we're talking about (Like when I say "Celes from Dangan Ronpa" I'm sure you know exactly who I'm speaking of) and you demand a real name, it seems just like a way to steal someone else's legitimate claim.

I agree with you for the most part but, the spoiler tag exist for a reason so the excuse about not spoiling it is invalid.



Im aware the game has been around for awhile but, most people claim from anime material not game or manga.

I agree with Pump and everyone else who is agreeing with him.

BUT, the rule regarding this was made mostly for the people from the Fate Series. This is most predominant with the fact that all servants are under only 7 aliases, and their true names are hidden. (I.E. Saber - Arturia and Saber - Nero).

I am only stating that the rule has a loop-hole, where the rule is only to be applied to a situation where many people have been given the same alias.

That EXACT thought crossed my mind when I read through the rules again, lol.

I understand that completely, however, it being stated as a requirement is more what I was talking about. Pumpjack, or anyone else watching the anime, is not at the point to know that name. If someone claims someone with a hidden name, the real name probably should be posted, using spoiler tags of course, but if someone really doesn't know said true name then I thought it was unfair that they have no ability to claim said character.

That's just my opinion though.

Only virgin weebs and easily butthurt people giveth thy fuck about spoiler... but if that what she goes by before it's revealed then it should count still. My new waifu last name wasn't revealed 5 games ago when I first claimed her.
