I've gone to a little city in spain and that's all, it was quite funny cause the lifestyle there is really different but that quite resume it all. But I'm French and I've seen a bit of all around the Hexagon and we can't really say that the country is uniform, I'm from the south west (La Brede a little village near Bordeaux) And when I was in Alsace in the north east I had the impression to be in a whole other country, even the way of speaking was different :lol: . So take my advice take the opportunity to discover your own country before leaving it because there is often more to it than you think.

Agreed, That's why I haven't really gone outside of the U.S. yet. However, the main reason is money, or more of a lack of it. But I'd like to go to Paris, Amsterdam, Germany, Japan, Finland, Ireland, Scotland, and so on.

Ireland, Scotland and England rock. They completely fit my lifestyle and they have such a big culture and so many places to see, a and a lot of thinks to drink.

bali is the best for winter vacation if you love summer.
it's summer allyear round.
another suggestion is south africa,because it's the opposite season in the southern hemisphere.

but if you prefer the dark,chilly,freezy winter vacation,try hokkaido,scandinavian countries,russia,or(my friend's recommendation)ICELAND

i recommend a complete scandinavian holiday if you're planning to go there.(norway,sweden,denmark,and preferably russia)

and as to how's finland.....
EXPENSIVE.
a proper american/asian meals(which you'll crave a lot) costs me more than 15 euros there.(which is a lot for me)
otherwise,you'll be eatin things like picked fish and raw fish all day long.
self-catered food is a good alternative if you could cook.

but the people there are kind and intellegent.not to mention that they're very creative.
you could see artform like statues and fountains all over the city.
and i can tell that the people really enjoy life.
i can't get any idea of how's life outside helsinki though.

but yeah,i'm likin it there.

Well this isn't in the near future or anything. Long-term plans. Next on my list is Vegas. If you live in the U.S. you're obligated to visit Vegas at some point.

can u bring any exotic food back from other countries

I heard Causeway Bay in HK is one of the most expensive avenue in the world so it'll be a wallet killer but does that mean I can't buy anything nice that won't kill my wallet? I think HK is a beautiful place and would like to travel there along with Japan :D

if it's food(ex:blood sausage,head cheese,beetle egg,or intestines)that is not tightly contained in industry packing(you put it in tupperware for instance)you can't.you're asking for troubles with the immigration guys if you do.

but if it's something with industrial packing(ie:canned fermented shark or bottled snake wine)it's ok.

as long as it's not in huge quantity.

Where in Japan have you been to, and which places were the most enjoyable?

hiroshima,kyoto,nara,kamakura,mt.koya,osaka,nagano,tokyo,kanazawa.

all of them are enjoyable.hell,i think JAPAN are enjoyable.

but the most enjoyable place for me would be kyoto,nara,mt.koya and kanazawa.
if you're looking for places like those in the memoirs of the geisha,those are the places.i'm telling you,those places are the killer.the bomb.the real-deal japanese cultural heritage.

but those places are not fit for those who love japanese subculture like anime,manga and cosplay,because you'll find next to nothing there.

osaka and tokyo are the place for those.

but if i have to pick the best three,it would be japan(need i say more),spain(all-around goodness) and israel&palestine(the whole new dimension,the vibe and the rareness....not everybody had the chance to go there.)
