Attention; Vista user come here.

How do you like with vista? Its keeping me headache that i wish i can revert back to XP, which i am really gonna do that in a few days time.




Vista is stupid
reason number one: Whenever i want to view my folders, i arrange it with my satisfication. However, whenever i want to visit again, the viewing arrangement changes. WTF.


reason number two: They are slow. I dont get it why. But to compare with XP, i can run faster. hence why?

I find Vista better than XP by far (I also find Windows ME better than XP, so take that however you wish.). Maybe your computer is just old enough so that the required specifications to properly run Vista are not met, therefore causing it to run slower than XP.

I occasionally see the problem with the folders, but it only happens if I right-click and arrange, not if I use the top bar.

Vista: My computer is super-dooper-hardcore and only works with Vista due to driver support missing in XP. I don't really mind, considering I have to grunty specs behind me to run Vista without worry.

vista for one is a programming nightmare.... you try to install an open source sdk, and it shits itself.

vista is secure! acutally not, on black and white it says it's secure, and does patch up a few unknown holes from nt5 those however are thwarted with human stupidity in the form of the vista uac (ie. fsck! allow/deny).

almost done with my rant. I FUCKING HATE PREFETCH it makes everything slower.... microshaft says it will make things faster as you use it, but it really doesn't go figure

and the user interface is quite borken, I hacked up litestep to somehow work with 64 bit vista ultimate

I don't think Vista is a programming nightmare. I've programmed software for it without any problems. Maybe you just don't know what you're doing?

Vista has it´s flaws as any other system do, but is far more better than XP if you know how to use it.

The only 'annoying' thing that i see on Vista is the 500 MBs memory leak.

But just as purifier said, if you know what you are doing then Vista is the best OS.

My main problem is that Vista is still so unsupported. I'm a gamer and I keep on having to program fixes for all sorts of games and such.

I must be special because the only game I haven't had work is ArmA, but that thing was poorly coded to begin with. Hell, it even works half of the time even as shit put together as it is. I'm a gamer too, so I don't want anyone saying "You probably only tried 4 or 5 games.". Nearly 3,500 hours of recorded play time (by Xfire) in the past 3 1/2 years on 100+ games. And that's just for the PC, and not counting all of the years before that. Hell, Warcraft I & II even work on my Vista (Of course, this just means that Blizzard is just really good at making games.).

Speaking of Vista, my computer just crashed this morning.

I bet you haven't used any programming language non microshaft have you? Python, and ROR (they are scripting languages so what) are only two of a few more that refuse to work with my vista laptop. coding is just fine, I CANT install the sdk... no matter what. and without the sdk you can't compile, check your code, or even execute it.

I've compiled Python on my Vista just fine. I use C++ to code most of the time. I have also written and compiled Java... but Java is stupid so I never count it in anything.

xp does run a bit more smoothly
but vista looks neat with the glass frame
and also easy to organize
i don't recommend playin games like call of duty 4 or crisis on vista though
big games just really mess vista up

What is with all of you coming out and saying these games don't run or that Vista can't run them? I've never once had a problem running any games on Vista ever (except ArmA, as I've said). Honestly, I can run Crysis at max settings with a great framerate on DX10 without any issues. Same with Call of Duty 4. I would really appreciate it if people would stop saying Vista is crap just because your system doesn't meet the specs for whatever your are trying to run on it.

Every game here works fine on Vista. These are just the games I have desktop icons for, too.

I agree with purifier, people should stop whining about vista, it's a good OS, granted it's got a few bugs, but so did EVERY OS at first, and the thing about games, I have no idea why people are complaining about games not working, all the ones I've played work great.
