Oh Heavens no. Children piss me off. There was only one young child that I ever got along with and that was one of my nieces. I'm sure that if I had to spend more than a day with her, even she would have gotten on my nerves. Sometimes I'm amazed that I can handle my own high maintenance, nevertheless having to worry about the maintenance of a child.
Babies. Babies ARE NOT cute. Awww, yeah, it is so frickin' adorable watching a wrinkly infant piss, shit and vomit all of the time. Toddlers hardly fair better because they start to learn the subtitles of annoyance, and things only get worse as they age. -_-
I used to have the same perspective, mainly due to the fact that I was partially raised in a family with a high amount of young children (for a period of time). However after I moved out and started moving on in my education (which was years after) I started coming into contact with children again. I won't say I was any good with them but in the meanwhile I had gotten several classes on the psyche of children and that somewhat could help me relate to why they did things. Eventually my disliking began to fade, however I'm still not a pro at handling children or anything. So I guess I understand your point of view, though you indeed need to have A LOT of patience when dealing with children. If you indeed already know that you don't have that sort of patience with children then I think it's a wise move that you won't commit to having any. However note that dealing with your own child often leads to more tolerance then someone else's child, as I've met people who couldn't stand children yet when they had their own they had no problems with it nor did they have any real problems raising iy.
