I would rather have the forum speed up without the help of motemote tbh.

He's saying that irc is shit cuz there's just a bunch of smartasses there, along with minimal activity.

MoteMote was fun. It was nothing but a giant spamming section of pics. There was the occasional person who sparked a convo. Usually by trying to push their opinion on someone or something along those lines. I was actually pretty shocked at the amount of people brought in by MoteMote.

Anyways forum activity has really picked up in the last couple of days. As for IRC I still won't go there cause it is dead half the time and either has noobs or smartasses as mentioned by other users. There are a few good people but not enough to make me want to stop using RS C-box or chatroll where I like everybody.

If only one of you come, then it's going to stay dead. If lots of you come in and really give it a shot, we'll all be happy to talk.
Think about it a little before you try and say "OH BUT THIS ONE HAS THIS OVER THIS". Just give it a shot for, lets say, a week. If you've still not bumped into anyone, after giving a few tries at conversation, we'll call it a failure and try and spruce up some of the features.


Because if you did bother to bring everyone with you at the same time, you'd end up taking it over, and that means that you'd be using the official protocol [Which is nice, gives the site activity] and you'd have all your little friends. Or in the case of Angelus, slightly larger friends.

That would work if anyone was there. I'm not going to show up by myself and I'm definitely not going to message everyone so we can have a meet up time. We have too many forms of messaging now. We have the forum (I have two forums), Live/IM's, Chatroll and RS C-Box. I don't use those all at once and yet I still talk to everyone I want to talk to. Why would I use IRC when I can still talk to everyone?

OK, this topic needs to be locked before a war between IRC lovers and IRC haters explodes. We don't want conflicts, right?

This won't turn into a conflict unless someone makes it one. I would much rather this be an honest mature discussion of the benefits between the different chat systems.

Right now there are 51 people in IRC, not all of them are chatting but a lot of them are. It has been getting a lot more active the past few weeks due to me promoting it on the front page (which I will continue to do). I, like everyone else, just want the site to improve as much as possible.

Hibia is right, you're bad mouthing something you're not willing to try, that's slightly ignorant and a shit move on your part, perhaps if you're not willing to join and give it a try you should at least shut your mouth about how "bad" it is... but acting ignorant is cool too, whatever.
