I DEFINITELY think less of girls in revealing costumes. They could be perfectly lovely people, but I'm so sick of seeing cliche "sexy" costumes all over campus. Also, the more clothes you wear, the less dumbasses will hit on you, giving you more time to enjoy your night. (ex: last year I dressed as Lara Croft on friday, Jessica Rabbit on saturday and "Baberaham Lincoln" on sunday. Guess which night I had the most fun.)
Depends if you were wearing a beard as baberaham lincoln - I'd totally hit on you if you had the beard.

Quite, would beard is a definite turn on, however, why do you think less of them penelope? i would think you would like them because they are the dumbass magnates.

My friends and I usually take the "do-it-yourself" route whenever we made our costumes. We'd go Halloween costume shopping at Halloween USA or a temporary shop in the mall and the mose lamest, more overly commercialized costume idea is always skanky. One of my friends this year wanted to be a pirate. She and I, with some friends, were at Hot Topic looking at their costumes and saw nothing but skank, up the ass skirted costumes. I mean, you can be hot and not have a mini skirt =n= Honestly.

I saw the little kids costumes recently and I swear they are just like mini-me's of the older models. They still look like 9 year old sluts.

That's why we made our own. Sure, one time in my life I'd like to wear something sexy but once you do you a. get hit on b. freeze your ass off and/or c. have it hanging in the closet forever, after you spent 50 bucks on it.

I once used a pair of those cheap vampire fangs you get at Hot Topic with street clothes the same way. This was 10 yrs ago back before "twinkling " vampires made a mockery of the entire gendre.

Honestly, the biggest offense I find with those costumes is how absolutely crappy they actually are made. That's my big pet peeve about halloween costumes. I understand it's a disposable outfit for most people... but still. I don't know. I avoid Leg Avenue like the plague (it's outrageous the prices they attach to these garments. Same with Lip Service. $99 for cheap thin PVC? No thank you.) Also they're a dime a dozen (and cost that much to make!). Anyhow, rant rant. My suggestion? Hit up a thrift store or salvation army and reconstruct! Don't know how to sew? It's ok, there are ways to work around that be it creative pinning and or tying or even fabric glue. (if you pm me with specific questions I'm always willing to offer advice... gotta make use of that B.F.A. in costume design, hair and makeup somehow.)

I hate Halloween personally. I'm the Grinch of Halloween. Dumbest holiday ever, if I want to get candy I'd rather have to fork over a few bucks to buy my own bag rather than dealing with asshole neighbors. That, and the fact that if you have an adult asking for candy it's a bit of an issue with most people. <.<
I've made it my tradition now that I watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show every Halloween. Best tradition I could have ever come up with. *nods*

Halloween simply doesn't happen here in my country. Only little kids do it. Last time I dressed for halloween I was about 7 years old and dressed as an executioner.

I like halloween. In my old schools we always celebrated it. This year i might wear some fluffy cat ears, and party with my little cousin, but thats it ^^
In portugal, we do trick or treat( at least we did when we were small) in the morning of November 1st. Trick or treat is called "bolinho bolinho" wich stands for "cookie cookie"( people gave us candies, cookies and money) and that day is a national holliday called " Day of every Saint".

Yea, that's my issue with Halloween. I think parties are more popular with the older kids. I was thinking about passing out candy, but I'm kind of afraid to lol. I know I'm gonna get these asshole kids who are taller then me in scary as shit costumes demanding for candy. I hate when 14 year olds are taller than me.

Personally, I hate costumes like that. What happened to the costumes that weren't slutty? You have to make your own friggin costumes now just so that you don't go to a party as Blow White and the 7 Dwarves or Sleeping Booty.
I don't think those costumes are hot because you need to be a perfect woman or the costume will suck.
btw, Mean Girls was pretty boring so I stopped watching TBS on weekend afternoons :P

Halloween costumes are simply eye candy regardless of their representation. There is no true point to them other than to attract attention from others, for better or worse.
That said, I find the entire thing pointless... but if females are willing to show more skin then normal for this pointless event, I am not one to complain.
However, knowing my opinion is pretty much useless to this conversation, I'll add that I agree. I do think costumes have become bland and repetitive.
My idea for a Halloween costume consists of metal pipes lined horizontally up a vest, all connected to one another via various wires that lead up to a hand held trigger. You then throw on(or grow) a beard and drive to your local Wal-Mart. Charge the front door, burst inside, and scream "ALLAAAAAAAH!!!" holding the trigger into the air and run around madly until security tackles you.
Some call this terrorism, I call it being true to the holiday itself: scaring the shit out of people.
