It should be 15, because episode 2 had Kyon is starting his high school career, and wanting to be more mature, so their freshmen.

but Haruhi might have been an entity that has lived longer than the person who is Haruhi... so the entity is forever
remember that Haruhi is not excluded from the universe, so in another perspective, she should be less than one year old (3 before the dream with Kyon)

HS freshmen are 15...right?
The age you are as a freshman depends on how old you are when you first begin school, I first began when I was 5 so therefore, when I was a freshman I was 14, and those who were 6 when they started school at kindergarten are to be 15 as freshman, its simple mathematics, and the answer to this question, i wouldn't know because i've never seen the show i just like voting and putting my opinion in on things, but the age when you enter highschool varies from person to person and from country/state to other countries and states.

I answered 15, but just because the universe is only 3 years old, doesnt mean she is, because she is the one that created it. She stays the same age each time she creates a new universe, she doesnt get reborn.

I actually have no idea how old she is, but I'm enjoying reading everyones opinions. If we assume she is the normal age of a freshmen in Japan she is probably 15 (although I don't know anything about school there).
If Haruhi literally created the universe three years previous to where the story starts then Kyon, Yuki and everyone else are only three years old. That does not however mean that Haruhi is three as she would have had to exist beforehand. How long beforehand we don't know, but they did make a point of suggesting that that may not have been the first time the universe was "re"created. Taking that into account she could be any age greater than three.

I tend to remember there grade and not there age. And then take a guess from the possible age for that grade. But with any character from this series anything is possible.
And was age even mentioned in the books, because I don't remember if it was from reading the Baka-Tsuki translations.
