How do you cope?

How do you handle kids/deal with kids/cope with kids?

I give them something to do or tell them to buzz off. or just play their games with them.

I don't, if I can help it. I can't stand children. Avoid them at all possible times, and when I'm forced with one I just suffer through it.

I'm a very motherly girl, so I tend to cope quite easily. I entertain them, play with them, get them to do artistic, crafty things with me or I just tell them a story and play dress up.

I also seem to teach them how to NOT eat that round shiny marble on the floor that they see...

Kids are sweet, one of the main reasons I wanna have abig family when I find a guy willing to do my bidding... er, who will love me.

I would love to be a stay at home dad. As odd as that sounds.

the guys here in the UK (a majority of them...) are all like 'Wam, Bam, Thank you Ma'am!' and they're done, leaving the girl they sexed up for one night feeling distraught, then that girl realises she's pregnant and curses the ground the guy walks on then tells him she's pregnant with his kid, takes him to court and makes him pay for their childs welfare

Wow, wouldn't go that far. If I manages to get a girl pregnant I would be willing to take care of the kid, but I wouldn't have unprotected sex without some serious discussion with my significant other. Hate might have been strong, but I don't think I'd make a good father at all. It would take quite a lot to convince me otherwise.

Fuck kids. They're little bastards who don't understand the meaning of volume control. Sure, maybe one out of 10 kids doesn't act like a complete douche who touches shit he isn't supposed to, cries like a motherfuck, runs around like a retard, or yells like a banshee, but all the others as far as I've seen are like that. Oh right, this isn't my hate thread, so I have to address the handling kids thing. I don't. I don't hang around kids and I try hard not be be anywhere near them. If I ever have a kid I hope it's that one special one who's not a complete retard.

Whenever I'm unfortunate enough to be near any of them, I simply refuse to acknowledge their presence.
Nothing worse for these attention-craving vermin than to be completely ignored and not even graced with a passing glance.

Since I have many younger cousins..

I usually try to act like the nice Older Brother and keep a close watch on them, and make sure they follow my advices clearly, and if they disobey, they'll get a punishment, just like that. And I usually will let them "play" again if the promise not to repeat their faults.

You caught meh! I really am good with kids, though. Plus, helping them with homework and taking them outside more often is something my parents never helped me with. I just wanna be there for them if/when I have kids. Volunteer work while they are at school would also help assuage the guilt I would probably have for not working. :D

Anyway, one hour since posting this topic, I'm honestly surprised this one got quite several replies already. As for me, I usually like kids, but at times, they are too much of a handful (though I'd rather make sure they don't do anything they will regret...).

I'd teach them logic, rationality, and common sense. Then I'd teach them how to argue with it!
