Isn't sadpanda kinda too good to be true?

I mean, it's great and all, but how does the site make money? And who else has the server space for that kind of thing?

I think it's some kind of govt. site that's used to monitor what people upload (aka CP). I'm not worried, just curious and wary.

Wait, I checked it, and SadPanda has ads, too! They're small, but they exist, near the bottom of the page. Doesn't seem like enough to pay for the whole site, but maybe it gets a whole lot of traffic.

They make money by adding advertisements to the site, just like tinypic or any other upload site.

I imagine it actually would. You have to imagine the site gets a lot of traffic, and ad revenue is actually pretty good.

Sadpanda is kindof silly in that they use yahoo ads, but yeah, advertising is the most common way to make any money of anything on the internet. Advertising accounts for 90% of all internet revenue. Sadpanda could also be a project of a more profitable company or person.

More interestingly, Twitter makes no money whatsoever. There are no subscription fees, no advertising, and they don't do like association deals with other companies, at least not ones they charge for.
But they have a LOT of investment money.
A lot of people are depending on Twitter's hypothetical worth.

Sadpanda is good because there is, more or less, no Terms of Service. Popular here because you can upload hentai on it without worrying about it being deleted.

edit: You know that site may probably get sued for copyright infringement or something down the line because that last picture on the sleeping pandas are from someone on deviantart... and most people on deviantart tend to be a bit touchy with people taking their art without noticing - espesially if their making a profit out of it (ads on site can be shown as a profit so they CAN blow it up)

Not likely. The individual creators of any image on DeviantArt don't actually own the image, DeviantArt does, and they aren't going to fight over a trivial copyright. DA is more concerned about covering their own backs (hence their great purge a couple of years ago), rather than worrying about the artwork of its users.

No I didn't mean the people who run DA But the individual creator. I used to be addicted to DA some years back and most of the good artists there, let's just say when someone comes around with their art it's mass murder and flame wars.
I even saw that one girl started throwing a fit over the fact her images was on 4chan....

You know these people are crazy. They should be happy someone finds their work good and stop bitching about people posting their works somewhere.
