Hey, im quite confused.... should a lolicon be equal to a pedo?

i mean, lolicons gets a hard-on on children anime.... and so as a pedo gets a hard-on on children....

or can it be being a lolicon leads to being a pedo? or vice versa....

We have gone over this loli shit so many times before.

Loli ain't real and they look hardly like any real life 10 year olds I've ever seen before. Maybe pedos would be drawn to loli, but loli isn't making people pedos. If it is, then that's just them, don't blame the loli.

The exception is in Japan, where loli = pedo. Outside of there though, the distinction is made.

It's the underlying message that usually sparks a guys interest with lolicon. Loli's are adorable innocent girls. For some guys it's really hot to taint a girl and make her less innocent. It doesn't mean they want to rape minors, but innocence is a turn on.

Though there are exceptions, such as KnJ.

Some guys just like the flat chests too.

However, a lot of pedophiles go to loli for their kicks, but in all fairness. I'd rather have them get their kicks from animated loli rather than watching illegal child pornography.

Pedophilia isn't someones fault as much as it's not someones fault for being gay, it's just not legal and it's more of a concern. Being gay you're not hurting anyone, but a child can't protect themselves from a grown adult.

This is something that isn't said often enough. I'm not standing up for child molesters, but being attracted to little girls or boys isn't something that you just decide one morning. They don't wake up and say, "I like having sex with women. Maybe I'll try having sex with little girls."

Related to that is the question, is a person a pedophile if he/she doesn't act on it? Can a person who doesn't and never would touch real little girls be called a pedophile? Sort of like, can a person who thinks about stealing but never does so truly be called a thief?

But to answer your question, pedophilia translates to child love. It's a bit different than a thief.

If you're sexually attracted to children then you're considered a pedophile.

There was only one time I ever met a pedophile on the internet (I think the only creepy person I've ever met in general) Ironically it was on a teenhelp website too. I was... 13-14? Prime age lol

Anyway, discovering him, I did some research on therapy or what's out there for pedophiles, and there really isn't much.

Most sites are activists to stop pedophilia and announce if you are indeed a pedophile to just do the world a favor and turn yourself into the police before you do something terrible.

So I could see why pedophiles would turn to something like lolicon.

I don't defend them in any way, but as far as I'm concerned if they haven't acted on their preference then they aren't in the wrong. I think there should be groups to help them in, not mental wards.

I do, however, kind of agree with what the activists mean, to a degree. See, they often mention just throwing yourself in jail.
I think pedophiles should do themselves a favor by making a notation with the government about it. Now, this would only work ideally.

My ideal would be if they can make a notation of their sexual preference, then by law they are not allowed to live near any daycare centers or schools.

Sex offenders/Child molesters already have to file and you can search your local neighborhood with how many offenders live around you.

However, realistically. Pedophiles would be watched to a great degree and possibly harassed or charged on false principles, as this is a corrupt and unfair world.

There was a L&O SVU plot like this, a young adult turned himself in because he was sexually attracted to his 6-7 y/o stepbrother, and Olivia couldn't do anything because he handn't actually committed an act of sexual abuse. Is this a reflection on real life? Because it seems like a contradiction. He did the 'right' thing and turned himself in, but was told to get help ha had to molest someone.

ooo shade of grey there zig, if you were to record your sexual desires with some form of higher power you would risk it becoming public knowledge, that information is never 100% confidential, and the national sex offenders database is not something anyone wants to be on... You would be hunted by zealous "activists" and your life would be ruined.

Also, you ideals also skirt the line of invasion of privacy, a database for sexual preference? Should homosexuals also be on that list? where do we draw the line?

There should be more help for these kinds of people but do I believe these people should have to live different lives if all they have is urges? no.

I said do themselves a favor by making it impossible for them to live near a daycare center or school. You wouldn't take a recovering alcoholic to a bar for some soda. I said they can make a notation. Not have to. Just like that episode of L&O that was mentioned - that guy wanted to turn himself in to get help. Some people might want to throw away that opportunity that they can find themselves lurking around child populated areas to think of obscene things.

I also clearly stated that ideally it might work, but realistically they would be harassed among other things and just would not work or be fair.

Also. To answer your question about where to draw the line of sexual preference. No, homosexuals should not be recorded - unless you for some reason have an argument against that. I already said the homosexual thing. The difference between homosexuals and pedophiles are homosexuals aren't hurting anybody else. SOME pedophiles cannot hold onto their urges. Therefore they put children at risk as children cannot protect themselves against a grown adult.

So no. Homosexuals do not need to claim their sexual preference on a database.

A topic such as this is always shrouded in moral ambiguity, and there is no correct answer as to how to deal with pedophiles, as some are actually ashamed at their own actions.

Unfortunately, some does not equal all, and for the most part, being ashamed of your actions does not necessarily stop you from conducting them again. This leads to more tragic events of children being abused.

Lolicon, however, is different in terms of pedophilia, as the children portrayed in this, well, art are entirely fictional and are, for the most part, shown as willing participants in the...activities performed.

Therefor, lolicon is not considered pedophilia in my opinion, since no actual people are being hurt to the extent of my knowledge.

I think its important to recognize the fact that not everyone who is "legally" deemed a pedophile, is actually a pedophile. Pedophilia has become colloquially used to refer to 3 different chronophilias. Obviously, one of them is pedophilia, which is the sexual attraction to prepubescent minors. In reference to pubescent minors, it's called hebephilia and ephebophilia for mid to late adolescents.

If it came down to a matter of claiming your sexual preference on a database, such a broad generalization creates an issue for people that culturally, and sometimes legally, aren't doing anything wrong. Adolescence is difficult to discern, but a lot of references put it in the range of around 15-19 years of age. So, ephebophiles who would be classified, under the generalization, as pedophiles, may not even be attracted to people who are under the age of consent.

I don't sit here and feel like this is how it should be. It was just an idea, and the reality of it all would just be too complicated and people are too corrupt for it to be able to work.

lol, be realistic, there are children EVERYWHERE... there is no area in North America without children, there are parks in every city, there are backyards in every town... you can't remove yourself from temptation, the only solution is to bare the brunt of the cravings and deal with it, man up so to speak... your analogy would be great if it was in any way similar to this issue but imagine that alcoholic was surrounded by alcohol no matter where he went, home, work, school... if he moved he would find himself in the exact same situation... he would simply have to deal and there would be no other option other than self control. Look, I'm not saying your ideals aren't right, I'm simply saying they aren't realistic in the slightest.

I do believe you're quite wrong when you say that some pedos can't control their urges I really believe it's a choice they made based on those urges but a choice nonetheless. Saying they can't control it is a cop out, these people simply don't have the strength of will to live with the urges without acting on them... The same could be said for rapists as the two crimes are mirror images of one another.

So here's a question, do pedophiles have stronger sexual urges than 'normal'sexual people? It seems like it, because there are plen-T of virgins out there not raping other adults.
