Lucky Star is one of those series where personal opinion is all that matters. Some shows are good, despite personal opinion; they're usually called "classics" and the only people who don't like them are trolls trying to start a fight. Then there are of course duds, which are horrible and shouldn't be viewed by anyone.
A lot of series either fit into one of the two categories or swing closely to one or the other. Lucky Star is a series that takes a shit on both categories and is impossible to define.
You might as well flip a coin whenever you meet someone, and that will tell you whether they'll love Lucky Star or hate it.
But even if a person doesn't like watching the show, he'll usually like the characters, because they're fun and cute. You can hate Lucky Star but love Konota.
Personally, I enjoyed the series, but as it went on, it did get harder to watch. Every time I thought about watching an episode, I would think to myself, "Okay, nothing's going to happen, and there are going to be some jokes I like and some jokes I don't like. Do I feel like wasting half an hour?" But I was watching the series in bulk, with all the episodes on my computer. I think watching one episode a week would be much better.
The point is,
it's all about personal opinion. If a person says they didn't like Gundam 0079, I'll get pissed and ask them to explain themselves before I pop a cap in their ass. That's to be expected. But if a person says they don't like Lucky Star, I immediately understand. The person doesn't have to give a single bit of explanation, because I can already think of a ton of reasons why a person wouldn't like the show. But it's not a bad show, because I can also think of a ton of reasons why a person would love the show.
