Anyone here who likes metal? and not soft metal as iron maiden.
I mean the hard kind, like Cannibal Corpse, Opeth, Disgorge, The Berzerker and such.
My favorite genres in metal are as follows:
1. Folk Metal
2. Death Metal/Brutal Death Metal
3. Grindcore/Deathcore
My favorite bands are as follows:
1.Elvenking
2.Falconer
3.Opeth
4.The Berzerker
5.Cannibal Corpse
6.Hypocrisy
7.Bloodbath
8.Disgorge
And on and on and on... I listen to over 150 different bands xD

I voted Death, but I am disapointed to see no Progressive Metal on the list. Dream Theater, Three, and Apocalyptica would disaprove of this topic. Also on a funny side note Opeth as hard as they are still fall in this genre.

Heavy/trash, but i more or less pretty much like all genres.

There'sm no power metal! What about dragonforce, blind guardian, iron savior, iced earth, kamelot and all of them? or are you placing that under viking metal...cause it's not =P

I like listening metal music, but I am not considering myself as a full true metal man...
But my friends are...

I pretty much counted Opeth under death, although I know that they're pregressive death metal, so... I counted most progressive death under death, although I know that it's not the same ^^
And Power Metal, in this case, falls under heavy/thrash metal, although I know it's not, you'll just have to vote on what's closest ^^
Did you know by the way that some people call Dragonforce Folk Metal? and Blind Gueardian too for some weird reason.

edit: I by the way don't really like Dream Theater. Never heard of Three, Apocalyptica is OK. But you'll just have to count those under death, like I did ^^

If you don't like Dream Theater, than you probably wouldn't like Three.

hehe ^^ I'm not really into such slow music, the slowest band I listen to is Draconian. And the only prog bands I like is Opeth (prog death), Ayreon (prog rock) and Gojira (prog death).

I try to listen to as much music as I can. I mean right now I have the Gorillaz, next up is Dark Tranquillity, fallowed by Hurt.

Dark Tranquillity is awesome! They should be a priority for you! They're soooooooooo great! Mikael Stanne has such an awesome growl!
If you like music such as Dark tranquillity, then you might like Hypocrisy. They're are heavier and faster than DT, but not in a too large scale. i hope you like them ;) DT that is ^^

I saw Dark Tranquillity live a few years back, but I would love to see them again. I have heard of Hypocrisy, just nothing by them. Metal isn't really the Best Buy around heres choice of music to stock, and I always forget to look up so many bands when I order stuff online.

I saw Dark Tranquillity at Metaltown, and I'm going to see them now again in November (I'm on the guestlist ^^, and no, I did not slep with anyone to get on it xD)!

But are you 100% sure that you HATE metal? it's really spread you know. The difference between Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, The Berzerker, Eluveitie, Iron Maiden and Dragonforce is HUGE! So do you really hate ALL metal?

If you like jazz you might like some Opeth! they're metal ^^
But soul and jazz is pretty good too ^^
