Anyways, Happy 4th of July. This is the day that my entire neighborhood smells like barbecue and the 1812 Overture keeps popping into my head (fireworks + repeated viewings of V for Vendetta).

It is supposed to be a 5-day work week, with saturday and sunday off. But almost no one gets a job that does that. Most people work with maybe one day a week off or less if you are full time.
And no I don't think anyone is going to get monday off, that is the downside to a weekend holiday. But the celebrations are bigger I think because more people can make it, and less people will have to worry about work on sunday.
It all depends on who you work for..

Government job you already work five-day weeks already, and in my city we have a holiday called Hanes Apperson Day, which basically always falls before The Fourth, so most of the time it is only a four day work week before the Fourth, but everything goes back to normal after that.

Most of the government jobs are five-day-a-week ventures. Unless your a postman, but your awesome benefits and pay make up for that. XD
