My taste in music has been questioned

I think liking video game soundtracks is a lot more interesting than those douchebags that like stuff that nobody can ever hate on.

For instance there are just some things no one in the world can ever hate on because they are sacred or something.
Here is a list I made so far:
1.The Beatles
2. 2pac
3. Bob Dylan
4. The Ninja Turtles (I know this ain't a music group but it fits in this unhateable list)

My point is I hate the people that will only listen to things like this just for the fact that no one can hate on them for liking that stuff. So yeah, tell that guy to listen to the Jet Set Radio soundtrack and shut the fuck up.

Real friends will appreciate what you think is nice music.

I agree with these. They're just not into what you're into. Real friends will actually try to listen to the music you like. Then if they don't like it, they don't listen or question it. If they do like it, then feel free to share with them ;D

My brother doesn't listen to any music other than video game OST tracks. I can't relate to him, since I have a deep seeded love for alot of music in my life. and while I think it would do him good to get interested in some other kinds of music, I respect the fact that he's just listening to what he wants to. I like the music I like, and I hate the music I hate, but that's my own opinion, and you can't bitch at someone for their opinion, it's as simple as that. People can have an opinion, and then try to force that opinion on someone else, which is a disrespect to that person's opinion.

Anyone who talks ill with out having gone through the pain and torment of trying to reach one more save point while listening to seriously epic tracks of heart wrenching moments and gut breaking action can't talk. Real music is defined by your soul. You feel it, you experience it, it is your life force for the minutes that it drives you on.

Now moving on to your friend.I'm betting your left eye her/his listening to mainstream music ,most if not all that shit they call music isn't worth your time in my opinion,
but has he/she ever listen to the songs all the way or has she/he played the games/visual novel/anime (hentai?) that comes along with the songs?I think not if he/she had then the reaction would have been differend.
So to conclude nor you nor your friend has bad or good tastes because taste are manifested/created by your personality so you can't like everything your friend likes and she/he can't like what you like.

I really can't say that any kind of music sucks, but its a matter of taste. It isn't someone's place to judge your taste in music. You like what you like and they don't need to listen to it. I will say that, there are some kinds of music I can't stand, but I can't say that its impossible to like it.

If your friend is really being a douchebag about it, let him know that if he can't accept it, he should shut the fuck up or realize that further antagonism may be interpreted as a personal attack against you. That way, if necessary, you gave him ample warning to stop and that his further antagonism gave you sufficient ground to defend yourself. Any injuries that he might have sustained from your act of self defense would be justified because he acted upon his own discretion. Whether or not it would hold up in court is questionable, but make sure he knows you're willing to defend yourself against personal attacks and you've got a case for self defense.

First of all your friend has to realize that there are many different genres of music in the world not just rock etc and just because your tastes are different to his doesn't make you weird. in fact i think having an interest in all types of music makes a person even more interesting. take me for example i love J-Rock and J-Pop but im not even from japan i live in the Caribbean.

Tell that friend of yours to listen to Mizuki Nana and other seiyuus. We'll convert him.

No ones taste in music is bad, it's a preference, and that means it is defined by yourself. It's not like there is some absolute law as to what is good and bad. Just listen to what you like, and fuck everyone else.

Taste of msic can influence the ways people look at you on face value. Whenever im jamin some j-rock or pop i roll my car windows up, i just dont care for people staring at me. However I will defend my music choice because it ties to memmories, experiences, moods, and is sometimes just plain awsome. So when judging someone or being judged yourself, keep this in mind: music sounds different to every one and has both good and bad times attatched.
