It is not that my friend is not worth converting, just that for whatever reason he has an almost irrational hatred of anything that can be related to games. I never really understood it but never called him out on it.

but hmm...why don't you try letting him listen to some anime/games music, without letting him know where it came from? that way will enable him to judge the piece based on quality alone...

Bah...i share the same problem, many of my songs are anime songs, just because i felt it was better. Since mostly of them are japanese and i can hardly understand like 30% of it, i cant make up what they are singing but they still sound cool to me iunno why. Others songs like english or chinese or malay which i understood so well hardly ever touch my taste of music.
Maybe the "I dont know what they are singing but it sounds nice" factor is better then understanding everything of what is in the lyrics.

I guess your friend probabbly is in the mainstream wave, being in the majority safe-side really packs up his confidence to criticise people eh? What he perceives to be different and labeling it as lame and weird without even trying it is just plain lack of common human sense and the ability to comprehend that each person's taste is different is caused by mindlessly flowing along the wave of mainstream go-ers, dont care what your mindless puppet friend says, tell em to fck off.

Is it weird that i don't have like a folder of music i listen to? i like listening to music when i hear them.... i just don't sololy listen to them. I don't watch tv either. Cause most of my friends think I'm crazy or something for not doing either.

Hmm.... Imagining to be Mr.PrinnyBomb's friend , if I should hate everything that's related to games then some possibilities that could exist :
1. I have no spare time at all to play games/watch animes , I hate others who have spare time to play , thus I've come to hate the games/animes also.
2. I'm currently coming to an age where I should never play games/watch animes anymore , although I still prefer having fun I'm too embarassed to do it , thus I hate the games/animes.
3. I have no money to purchase the games/animes , I hate something that I could never have in the meantime , thus I hate games/animes.
4. My GF/BF never spends time with me , he/she's always busy playing games/watching animes , I'm jealous , thus I hate the games/animes.

Honestly , I can't imagine someone who hates games really exist , well at least I have never seen one in my lifetime ,

Don't mind your friend too much, I happen to like games' soundtracks myself and though my pals poke fun at me for that, I know they're just fooling around because secretly, they like it too.

But seriously, I did get my friend to listen to Otherworld. He thought it was boss, then I told him it was from Final Fantasy X. After about five minutes of the , "wha, wai, how is that, wat?" routine he said it was a fluke and I could not find another good song that came from a game. I gave him my copy of the Devil May Cry 3 OST and he has not given it back yet >_>.

All my music is anime, well 90% anyway. People always look down on my music collection, but i dont care.

Anyone badmouthing the works of Nobuo Uematsu should burn in hell. Period.

They are shallow and shows no knowledge of other genre of music besides their own.

There is someone in my class who doesn't listen to music himself, but did ask me to send a song I like just so he could hear 'what I'm into'.

So I send him a track from the new Hypocrisy album, Hang him High. Nowadays he never takes my music serious anymore. And as soon as I ask him to give arguments, he replies with 'It just sucks, simple as that'.
But I'm in the same class with people who give me a disgusted look whenever I say I buy some of my music, so go figure.

'Damn, why buy it when you can just download it for free? Saves you a lot of money.'
Because I want to have the real thing and supporting a band is always a nice thing to do.
