Post count farming...

I'd like to call on the admins to issue warnings to users who obviously consistently farm post count... It's needless, and it does nothing but add clutter to our already bloated board. I don't ever want to get to a point where I can't keep up with threads anymore because some douche keeps bumping threads which are long dead simply so he can have bigger numbers or a title under his name. If you agreed or disagree with my above statement please feel free to comment, perhaps we can get some real debate going without it degrading to poo flinging. If they were to have something like this what would be an appropriate punishment? 1 day ban> after that 1 week? after that post count reset? (we're talking about a multiple offender).

lol i dont really notice since i didnt really care about post counts >>; im not gonna get myself a hot girlfriend or a job with my crazy high post counts in fakku.

But i do agree that sometimes its annoying to look at multiple threads and find that you have just wasted 30 minutes reading nothing o.o;;

well im gonna have to agree with you cos i am fed up with seeing 6-7 threads on the same topic so i say.... LET THE BANS COMMENCE!!!

This really isn't a bloated forums. Compared to other communities I've been to, the traffic here is quite mild. Though post whoring members are annoying, I don't see that much of a problem, and if it did come down to banning the post whores, it would be quite hard to do this unless we put a post cap and that would just kill the forums, since everyone would use their posts at the beginning of the week and the forums would die and the lack of topics at the end of the week would in turn cause less members to post at the beginning and the cycle will continue 'til most members would have left.

its alot better than posting something thats completely nonsense or repeatedly bumping threads for no reason at all.

Yeah that this thing pisses me off as well. It's ok to agree but put some effort into it.

I dont think FAKKU! has to many problems with this. But I have seen some instances.

The problem I have is not with posts but threads as said before. People need to look for exsisting threads before making them.

I am worried that if we do something like this too many people would get banned and less people would post.

I agree that title hunters (75% of the cases) are annoying as fuck but at least it's better now than it was during MM..
If something could be done about it I'd still be overjoyed but finding the thin line between spammer and non-spammer is usually a bitch.

Actually, I don't mind old threads, which some would deem dead, being bumped or revived, as long as there is some constructive replies being added to them. By constructive, I am definitely NOT referring to a simple "thank you", "I agree", or anything along those lines.

I don't know. I think most of the people I see bumping old threads and just trying to increase their post count stop posting before too long. They'll mess around for a week or two, and then they'll disappear. Plus, spammers are usually reported and have their threads locked or deleted.

I've been here for a while, and I've never seen anybody run rampant and piss off everyone on Fakku. I saw a guy who bumped a lot of old threads over the course of an hour, and he got the shit banned out of him. That seems alright to me.

Then again, I don't spend all my time in Random or IB, so maybe I've missed the spammers. But I do check the sections every now and then, and they're usually fine. In fact, I've even checked Random a couple of times lately and seen threads that haven't had a reply in over 24 hours on the first page, which makes the section seem oddly slow.

I'm kinda agree with Gambler...I don't mind bumped thread as long as the reply is coherent and make sense
maybe some ppl just wanna talk about the topic and reply to the existing thread rather than make a new one, it's not that wrong I think, just following the rules...

The spammer is ppl that reply to a thread with a simple one word like LOL, or thank you or something like that or just merely quoting what others said before...

i dont mind old threads getting bumped when the person wants to talk about it neither, what i DO mind is a thread that was bumped with a single "Bump" post or something similar >>;
