Seeing as how the people jumped out while he was going the speed limit, I don't think we can say anything about when he was going 90 mph at this moment. I'm not saying it's particularly a good thing for a driver to hit the person that ran out nor am I saying it's okay for the driver to speed, but if the people do cross the street in a 55 mph zone when a car is that close, it's their fault no matter what speed the driver was going.

To clarify, so there isn't a misunderstanding: If the people do start crossing when the car is at a good distance, but do get hit because the driver was going too fast, then yes it's the driver's fault. But in Angelus's scenario, nup.

Again, i never said he was going 90 this time; the question asked him if he drive around 90 most of the time (as he said) does he believe he would be able to get out of criminal charges. To be perfectly honest I dont even believe he was going 55, but that is beside the point. As long as it can be judgeed that he had reasonable time to avoid the people then he would be at fault, as he did have time and did not injure the people he obviously had enough reaction time and would have been held accountable had he hit them. His question was should he have run them over out of spite for their stupidity... and I honestly believe Angelus being fresh meat in jail because of a stupid fucking call he made as a benefit to society... If I were him I would simply have been mad, but to consider murder out of spite? Issues much?

P.S. Angelus case... he's making it sound like he didnt have time when he in fact did... he didn't really kill a bunch of people dude...

It's human to go the speed limit if they think it's safe like he mentioned in his post. I know I wouldn't have had a second thought about going the speed limit near a fair ground if I knew it had been over a few hours before.

then why post if he didn't want the question he asked answered? If he wanted to vent he should talk to his hats... If he wants people to bitch with him about the stupidity of pedestrians he should have worded his OP as I mentioned in my first post, as a general statement about pedestrians. Can't help but repeat myself over and over, if you think about what you want to say before you post many of these threads can be avoided, otherwise prepare for harsh criticism from others(myself included).

If you think about it, the only real reason you would be this upset by something like this is if they slowed you down while you were in a hurry, otherwise you would simply slow down, give them a glare as you drive by and forget it ever happened. Angelus came home, sat down, put on one of his hats, booted up his computer, opened his browser, came to the forums, and created this masterpiece of written diarrhea... he was either speeding or in a hurry to get somewhere... or an idiot who takes things too seriously.

I could relate to Angelus's post because people run out in front of you all the time at my college. Usually sprinting out from behind parked cars (not on a crosswalk either). It's like they've got a death wish and one would get upset because it scared the shit out of you that you almost hurt/killed someone for their lack of intelligence.
