The Best Gundam and Pilot

Well, I never said the series was bad, just that I hated the Z Gundam ending, and I was so bored with ZZ Gundam that I gave it up, which is very unusual for me, even for a Gundam series.

Now as for your second argument, the symbology of Gundam becomes something more than just evil. HOWEVER, it was never meant to be a symbol of anything in the first place. It was originally meant to provide a means to end a war. Gundam had many advantages:
1. It can fight in space and had its own sealed compartment.
2. It has mobility unparalled to any other type of fighting unit out there.
3. It can be transformed for many uses: space, air, land, sea.
4. The technology of gundams are also far more advanced than the EF could anticipate, hence the creation of the first MS, dubbed "gundam".

I can only agree with part of your argument, especially when it's newtypes that create the chaos around them. I'll have to be honest; as long as it was some kind of new military unit, than that would become the source of hate, whether it was gundam or not. But putting that aside, it was never explicitly stated in the series that gundams represent hatred. Moreover, it's the people that use them bring out their hatred out onto the battlefield. I watched Z Gundam, V Gundam, and Gundam X, and the term newtype carries a far more deeper term than "gundam" itself.

But I digress. Gundam was never meant to be a symbol of anything. However, as wars grew on, it did begin take on a meaning. Rather than evil, gundams represented "power", power to take on the world, power to represent your ideals, power to gain freedom from oppression, power to end suffering. Zeon stealing gundams because it represented evil? Wtf? No sir, they stole gundams to have power that they didn't have. The TITANs? They used gundams to subjugate people - yet another form of a misabuse of power. The TITANs were associated with evil, not the gundams they piloted themselves. Look at Gundam 00 - the meaning of gundam was talked about in series... and the main character Setsuna likened gundam to a god of sorts, able to bring punishment and judgment on those he saw fit. And what does God represent? All knowing wisdom (technology), all encompassing sight (mobility), and all ominpotent power (power's power).

And look at the gundam series track record; what starts out as a fight for a greater cause eventually turns into a war of attrition, chaos, and personal vendettas, and the ultimate goal of peace. I haven't yet seen a gundam series that follows the aforementioned format. Z Gundam, G Gundam, V Gundam, Gundam X, Turn A Gundam, Wing Gundam, Gundam SEED, Gundam SEED Destiny, Gundam 00 - they all more or less follow a war-that's-turned-into-chaos-and-personal-vendetta format. And in reality, it's the humans that embody evil or good, and through gundams they express it. Gundam itself can be likened to a gun, and depending on WHO uses it, it can be used for good or bad. Gundam does not represent evil, rather it represents the power to do either good or evil, a vessel of sorts.

Now as for your last argument, I don't understand how I can watch a series for a specific gundam - you don't watch anime for just its characters because it's the plot that ultimately drives a series forward. Why should I care if a series has a sequel or not? Your way of talking and arguing proves that you're only a UC fan who can't accept the other gundam variations out there - you've even said it yourself. This makes arguing near pointless. Granted, I know that I'm not a UC fan, but I do appreciate Gundam's origins and especially Turn A Gundam and Gundam 08th MS Team. Gundam X gave a pretty interesting breakdown on the meaning of "newtype" and I thought V Gundam was one of the most gruesome shows ever televised because everyone around Usso kept dying. (and that blonde traitorous bitch who's name I've forgotten.)

In any case, the complication here is Best Gundam AND Pilot. In this case, I will be listing best pilot for each kind of pilot.

OldType: Garrod Ran/Heero Yuy/Loran Cehack

Hard one to judge, since a lot of OldType pilots are quite awesome. Garrod Ran is a definite, since he can win against NewTypes. However, Heero Yuy just has awesome piloting skills inside and outside of a Gundam. Loran gets a spot here because of his Beam Saber skills and the fact that he actually had to discover the Gundam's functions on his own. There are other candidates that I just can't think of right now.

NewType: Kamille Bidan/Judau Ashta/Usso Evins

Apparently, Kamille Bidan is the strongest NewType, which someone claimed was stated by Tomino. Definitely an S-class NewType, if only because of Sword of Rage and Waverider Crash, plus that NewType Barrier. However, Judau has actually matched Sword of Rage and NewType Barrier, but then throw in NewType-powered High Mega Cannon and thus, Judua has proven his status as an S-class NewType more than Kamille. Usso Evins earns a spot if only because his V2 Gundam took the Angel's Halo apart with the Wings of Light, plus he's a genius with Beam Sabers. For those who think Amuro and his feat of pushing Axis away, that was due to overloading the Psyco frame with Char, not purely because of his NewType abilities.

Artificial NewType: Puru Two/Rosamia Badam (Rosammy)

Well, Puru Two, which would also include other clones of her, gets a spot here because she was actually Mass Produced and proved her superior Artificial NewType Abilities have shown to the end. I'd like to throw in Elpeo Puru, but I don't know if she's actually an Artificial NewType or just a regular NewType. Rosamia Badam (Rosammy) belongs here since she showed her NewType potential outside of the Psyco Gundam, along with inside.

Coordinator: Kira Yamato

As much as I hate Kira, he's certainly the best of his class. Definitely not the best pilot, but the best of his class.

Gundam Fighter: Domon Kasshu

His feats on Lantau Island AND against Colony Devil Gundam earn him the place as best Gundam Fighter.

Now that pilots are out of the way, let's talk about best Gundams.

AD: GN-001 Gundam Exia/GN-003 Gundam Kyrios

Although the new Gundams, such as Gundam 00, were presented, we have yet to see them in action. In any case, it's a bit of a tie between Exia, which was awesome with Trans-Am activated, and Kyrios, which is the most balanced of the four Gundams. Still, Kyrios is just as awesome as Exia with Trans-Am activated, so there is no clear winner here.

UC: LM314V23-24 Victory 2 Assault Buster Gundam

This is actually a candidate for strongest Gundam with its superior speed of just under 20Gs, along with its massive arsenal of weapons. Then, throw in its I-Field and Anti-Beam Coating for defense, and top it off with the almighty (and highly copied) Wings of Light. You now have a Gundam capable of taking out some Super Robots even.

AW: GX-9901DX Gundam Double X with G-Falcon

If the Gundam X could wipe out a colony with its Satellite Cannon, imagine what Gundam DX's Twin Satellite Cannon can do. Couple that with its ability to control the G-Bits, which are Mass Produced Gundam Xs that each have a Satellite Cannon, then throw in the G-Falcon for mobility and a Mobile Armor Mode. Again, this is one of the Real Robots capable of taking out Super Robots.

CE: ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam

I hate how it's powered by plot armor and spams guns for a FRAWRESS VICTOLY!!!, but it technically is the strongest Gundam in CE.

AC: XXXG-00W0 Wing Zero Custom

Although people exaggerate that the Twin Buster Rifle can take out a colony, that is not true. What Wing Zero does is target the core of the colony with the Twin Buster Rifle and then leads to its destruction. Still, Wing Zero has good Machine Cannons and Gundanium Armor, and Rolling Twin Buster Rifle sets it up as the strongest Gundam.

FC: JDG-00X Colony Devil Gundam

Even though God Gundam is awesome and took it down, the fact that it took an army of Gundam Fighters, with each Gundam more like a low-class Super Robot, there's no way that it's NOT the strongest Gundam.

CC: SYSTEM ∀-99 (WD-M01) ∀ Gundam

Since ∀ Gundam's Moonlight Butterfly wipes out anything technology-related, it is THE strongest Gundam. Now, some might say that Turn-X deserves this spot, bt mark my words, TURN-X IS NOT A GUNDAM. This is official, mind you. Notice that ∀ Gundam actually has the word Gundam after it, but Turn-X doesn't? Yeah, because it is not a Gundam.

Now, just for the heck of it, I'll throw in strongest MS.

MS: Tria/Interpol

Before SD Gundam G Generation DS, this spot belonged to Turn-X. However, both Tria and Interpol can take out Turn X and ∀ Gundam with relative ease. Each one is capable of self-regeneration, since they are completely made-up of Nanites, and as a defense, they have Field Imperium, which blocks any attack the same way an I-Field does. Each one can create a Nanite Sword, which is basically a smaller Muramasa Blaster, from its Nanite Wings, along with a powerful gun, Launcher Geminass. The Launcher Geminass, also made from its Nanite Wings, shoots both Beams and Railgun slugs, which makes Freedom's spamming look weak. It's strongest weapon is Relum Dominatos, aka Moonlight Butterfly Funnels. The strongest version of this attack is Nanite Luminarium, which requires either Tria or Interpol and two other Centurio-class MSs and spreads the effects of the Moonlight Butterfly Funnels over a larger area. If ∀ Gundam and Turn-X can single-handedly take out Devil Gundam and Tria and Interpol can take out both ∀ Gundam and Turn-X, you realize that they are even stronger than the strongest Gundams in existance.

Lol I Loled hard on that one.



Yeah that is a common misconception that Kira is better than Athrun, since Athrun did techinically beat him on the island.

But if Kira was trained, and didn't care to kill the pilots inside, I believe Kira would be the best pilot since being a super coordinator just makes him awesome. And he has Lacus and that makes him the winner by default. XD

Heero the living weapon of war and of course his Trusty Wing Zero, seriously the freedom could kiss its ass good bye if it gets hit with the Buster Rifle of the Zero and also it has the Zero System dont really get what it is but im thinking it enhances the pilots capabilities(although i think the first ver. and not the custom was the stronger one i mean it destroys colonies man)

If you're going by G Generation, I guess it's fair if I also go by Gundam Musou.

Did anyone enter this forum, read two of Chuu!!'s posts, and then skip directly to after his last comment like I did? Kudos to your knowledge Chuu!!, but a little too technical. Anyways, I don't think the best is a Gundam pilot and their gundam. If you've watched 8th MS Team, then you know of Norman and his custom Gouf. No super powered weapons, no impervious armor, no enhanced/psychic pilot abilities. Just a gatling gun and straight up skill.

Eh, a bit of a copout, but that's kind of an interesting point. Of course, this only applies to video games. If any of us here were to enter into an actual Gundam without any previous skill, we would not be considered anywhere near as awesome as the pilots in the Gundam series. Then again, that's if we don't develop NewType capabilities or anything of the sort.

I was pretty sure my previous summary would just end this discussion, since I was thorough enough to go by each series. It's a little difficult when you cross over the series because you start to have mixed results.

The problem is, those two are only found in SD Gundam G Generation DS, so there's no existing lineart or exact figures for the machines. The best I could do is one fanart picture, although well done, does not show the entire figure. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure the fanart picture was of a Centurio, not of Tria or Interpol.

However, the best I can do for proof is tell the situation of the last two levels. This, of course, means spoilers.

The Tria has the ability to heal HP of the entire squad, which would essentially mean that it has self-regenerative properties. Whenever an attack lands on the Tria, a barrier shows up, which indicates that it has defenses similar to an anti-beam coating, except not limited to beams. As for attacking, all of Tria's attacks involve it dissolving its Nanite Wings to reform into other weapons, such as the Nanite Sword or the Launcher Geminass. The only exception is the Relum Dominatos. In this instance, the wings scatter in the surrounding area and spread the nanites.

Overall, even if the ∀ Gundam is the strongest Gundam, the Tria and Interpol are definitely superior because they possess the ∀ Gundam's Moonlight Butterfly attack in funnel form, while being armed with nanite weaponry, such as the Launcher Geminass, which is like Freedom's weapons in the form of a single gun, and the Nanite Sword, which is essentially a very powerful close-range weapon. The only advantage that the ∀ Gundam has is its I-Field, though that is limited to beams, while the Tria and Interpol's Field Imperium protects against all types of attacks, though not as well as an I-Field does. The only reason that the Tria and Interpol are superior to the Centurio MSs are because they have more wings and tougher armor. Nothing else. If you break the bounds of the SD Gundam G Generation DS game, then theoretically, the Tria and Interpol could use the Launcher Geminass in one hand and the Nanite Sword in the other, all while spreading the Moonlight Butterfly Funnels with the remaining wings.

As for your best pilot, I strongly disagree to Johnny Ridden. If anything, his skill was not particularly special compared to other OldType pilots in existence. If anything, he's sort of like an OldType version of Char, down to the red Zaku II/Gelgoog. He had the potential to be better, but let's not forget his loss at A Baoa Qu. Supposedly, he survived, but committed suicide when he learned of Lady Kycilia's death. On the other hand, it could be false, since one of the Gundam Evolves had a Zeta Gundam planned for his use, though another pilot got to it.

Again, I already summarized best OldType pilots in my previous long-winded post, though Johnny Ridden doesn't do anything to put him on the level of, say, Garrod Ran, who continually adapts to his combat situation and has overcome many NewTypes, despite being an OldType.
