i really love to make ramen at home, and i have this sushi place i go to in town called Hiro's, and its amazing, even if it is a little to expensive for me to go very often.
Hitsumabushi, nabeyaki udon, takoyaki, ebifry, curry and of course, sushi. :D
In terms of packaged snacks, I like umaibo, Koala March and Pocky.
For beverages, I like matcha latte, Calpis/Calpico and Kirin's milk tea.
Now I'm hungry... ;-;
Pork Ramen is where it's at, I think. There's several places in my area that know how to make it really well, and I think it takes first place in terms of my favorite Japanese food.
Traditional sushi is one of them. Sukiyabashi Jiro in Ginza Chuo Tokyo had some of the best sushi I have ever had.
Nabe is something I also miss out there as well as ramen, udon, and peanut amanatto. Not to big on sweets, but some of the desserts like mochi ice cream as well as hakuto jelly left a impression on me. Maybe because my first kisses over there were some girls who's lips were covered with that sweet taste.
I really like takoyaki but maybe I'm saying that because I'm craving octopus right now aha.
And it's a little generic but I also like tempura udon and sushi (I'm not enough of a Japanese food connoisseur to know specific names of different kinds of sushi).
Reading all these posts sure has made me really hungry.
I love kitsune udon with kakiage (fried tempura veggies). I enjoy eating sweet abuurage tofu pouches. I can eat them everyday.
Savoury snacks: curry senbei, okonomiyaki, karaage, onigiri, sushi and yakitori
Sweet snacks: japanese custard manju and mochi <3
Theres this sushi place a few blocks from my house that has this thing called a Fat Man, its a temputa roll with two layers of rice, four diferent types of fish, sesame sauce with spicy black things on top, and than they cover it in deep fried calamari, and than they wrap the entire mess in a rice tortilla. its 8 bucks, and i get one every day for lunch, its amazing
