Why not stop in to IRC for a visit?

I was talking with Jake, he told me he loves that fakku has sooo many secondary communication methods like RS, Chatroll and IRC. I agreed but I really thought about it for a while, and as much as the idea of mixing with everyone might scare me a bit I think it might be nice to have some of you join IRC and we can attempt to mend some broken fences, perhaps build up the strength of our community which seems to be ever expansive. I know many of you will be skeptical, especially hearing this from me, I would be as well, but I'm really starting to feel like this family of our is being spread to thin. If you've had bad experiences in IRC in the past I can assure you many things have changed (Operators and Admins being more kind to everyone for example). I'm not suggesting you stop going to the other places you enjoy, but be like some of our current users and open up to both options, it's not like you cant have your cake and eat it too. Give it a try (longer than sitting idle for 5 minutes), come join us a few hours a night; you might come to love what you find.

I love irc. For some reason I just forget about it, though. I never remember to launch the app, but Waar has motivated me to try to remember! 8)

I support this idea. When I first joined Fakku, I would rarely visit IRC. Maybe once every month or so. And during the times when I did go, I was simply observing the chat's activity but chose to say nothing (other than an occasional "lol"). I chose to do so as a method of taking notes of how things go in the IRC, because I didn't wanna go in there looking like an idiot (by saying something stupid or "talking up a storm" when nobody is really conversing). Haha, I lurked.. basically.
Turns out, IRC was much better than I expected. People won't flame you for no reason or lash out on you. Plus, the moderators and those in power aren't the type to abuse their power or shun you, like I thought they may be. I've been to plenty of chats where the mods are arrogant, stuck up, and will ban you for the slightest thing, but... it's not the same there. It's pretty "chill".
So I recommend checking it out.

I somewhat don't like the idea of open multi-user chats. I would never bother with joining the IRC of various MMORPG's I've played or communities I've joined, but FAKKU kind of got me wondering recently. Enough that I already made myself somewhat-familiar with an actual IRC client. Now that I've seen Waar going all soft when talking about IRC, I was able to make up my mind and decided to better keep on staying the fuck out of it. That's really scary. [size=7]Just kidding.[/h]

I tried that the other day, but I can't get into it... sort of saying. I mean, there's a box to choose the nickname; I put the nickname(Kuroneko1/2), click connect and it says "erroneous username".
So yeah I don't know nothin about irc's and whatnot. So if someone could help me out, i'd be sure to visit there.

Too many elitists... and people are too busy talking about their own topic or too busy wailing on the newbs (seeing as how some of 'em come out into the forums to do just that if it gets boring in IRC)... I could join in, but its not my cup of tea.
The atmosphere in IRC is also always tense, because one wrong move can get you into shit, so no one really talks freely except for the old fags.

I randomly popped into the Chatroll ysterday, I've never been a fan of IRC chats though. I can't really describe it. It has nothing to do with the communities involved, just like something technically displeasing that I dislike about IRC. I might swing by sometime though.

I'm happy to see IRC active now. When I became active on the forums IRC was quiet, but seeing how they are becoming more lenient with their flaming, I will give IRC a try.

also, if that's what you truly believe then it's a shame and completely your loss, but things are far better than you say and its a shame you're stuck on those misconceptions. To be fair, any time ive joined CR or RS i've also been greeted with "ban him" without saying much. But I digress, this isn't the compare the three, it's simply to create a greater feeling of community.

IRC is pretty active and I suggest everyone atleast checks them out.
Everything from joking around to serious fucking business discussion goes on there. Good way to have a real time conversation instead of just forum posts. And for you quality people irc has mods there almost 24/7 so any spamming and stuff gets dealt with pretty quickly.
Worth checking out. If you dont wanna use the link at the top left of the site try chatzilla or MIRC. Work well and let you check out other irc channels.

That reminds of that time Hibia told me he could set any word into an instakick, like he did with Random Squad. So I suggested he change the instakick to "lol" and he kept that for a day or two, and people were getting kicked left and right. haha!
