I'd say slow i mean "Nemesis" was SLOW right (apart from the fact that he seems like he magically teleports to where you are in 5 seconds i mean HOW THE FUCK DOES HE DO THAT) and slow ones tend to surprise you in places you rarely expect if you play the RE series you know that slow zombies mean business (whether they're infected with the T-virus, las plagas, or a combination) bottom line slow - modern and classic

I prefer slow zombies for survivability and general lulz and fast zombies for a challenge.

I rather slow moving over fast because when you need to rest up in a shack or something, Slow zombies can easily get you because their less of a noise maker from a fast zombie.

Fast = HUFF HUFF HUFF HUFF TAP TAP TAP HUFF HUFF HUFF TAP TAP TAP HUFF HUFF ~Shooting your gun and running~ CHOMP if your too slow or at a loss of stamina

Think I'll stick with the slow ones. At least you have time to think up a plan and not be under too much pressure when you're in a tight spot. Most of the time, if you got caught by a slow zombie, you either fucked up or somebody fucked you over. If the situation involves fast zombies, however, you might just be fucked from the get-go. Not to mention general exploration would be a BITCH with fast zombies. I dunno about you guys, but when Im the last human alive, I don't want to be a hikikomori.

In this thread's reality: Zombies will bite you anywhere if in close contact, Its better to stay at least 60 meters away at all times.

I'm torn.
Fast zombies are great for movies and games. The classic ones are cool, but it nags at reason. Zombies can reach out, and maul a person. Why can't they run for their food?
Fast ones also raise the "oh shit" factor.


Slow ones are better for the zombie apocalypse plan. They are manipulatable, and cannot climb sheer surfaces (wallrun, possible with decent practice/retard strength). In games, being surrounded and devoured is a more satisfying loss. And.......naw. Most movie slow zombies suck (example of good ones: diary of the dead)

Fast zombis for sure. You cant top that kind of excitement or fear.

If in real life I'd go with slow zombies. Why? Well I sure damn don't want a zombie (worse yet, a horde) sprinting the fuck out of me as it will be tiring and undeniably SCARY.

But in games and movies? Yeah, Id go with ridiculously fast zombies, it seems more suspenful and more paced.

To me fast zombies seem more realistic. Dead reanimating...yeah, no virus could ever do that, that's magic and dark-arts. More likely would be an extremely aggressive, viral form of Crutzfeld-Jakobson's that removes higher thought and reduces humans to carnal, bacteria-like creatures. (and thus would be extremely aggressive in movement and pursuit of potential food sources.

i agree, zombies are always(mostly) portrayed to bite you , eat your brainz etc. but kinda confused on the concept of L4D. If you have played the game, the first one , there was this church guy that got bitten, but the four immune survivors aint getting any bites, they are just getting punched , whacked , kicked, clawed, strangled , boomered by zombies.

I think that the portrayal in l4d is okay. Thinking about the way animals attack each other. If an animal has claws (or claw like implements), it will attempt to gore the other before running. Predators use their mouths, but that is because they have sharper cutting/piercing teeth. If humans are reduced to baser instinct, the reach and dexterity wins out over the immediate payoff.
I could envision zombies clawing, until they grab you. (although, l4d survivors are immune to grapple attack. The only ones that manage are feral claw machines, special cases.)

for some reason slow zombies brings out the creepiness of zombies in me. According to Romero, slow zombies allow you the viewer to see each individual zombie, romero often use this to full effect by emphasising certain zombies post-dead characteristics.

also, its easier to get a nice clean headshot with my fuckin A' sniper rifle.

Fast Zombies are better.
I feel like I accomplished something when I successfully light an entire horde on fire.
Feels like i really did it.
Plus, its easier to trick quick zombies.
Slow ones tend to b ...smart.
Fats ones just run.
Right into my sights.

in real life you just better hope there are no fast zombies

Slow ones ofcourse, because then I will have a chance to escape :-)
