Abortion

I don't think abortion should be illegal, otherwise a lot of women will try and miscarry on purpose and hurt themselves. Didn't women used to 'fall' down stairs to lose their babies back when it was illegal? This doesn't mean I agree with abortion ethically though. In cases of rape, I don't know. I've never been in that situation, so I wouldn't know if it would be too hurtful to carry a pregnancy from rape to term. But when there's some career woman who gets pregnant and has an abortion, I get angry. I mean, haven't they heard of birth control? IUDs? Those things can last for ten years!

Whether or not abortion is legal, if a woman feels they are in a desperate enough situation they will get it regardless. Personally i would never tell a woman whether or not to have one, as it is major thing. Despite what some on the Right have said a woman doesn't take the decision of whether or not to have a abortion lightly.

Personally i support making contraception more widely available instead of trying to make abortion illegal. That, and reducing the amount of woman who feel like they have no other choice is the only practical way to reduce abortion.

Yeah, I read somewhere that there is a stigma in Japan of being on the pill, so some woman use abortion like birth control.

It is my opinion that abortion should be available for the asking to any woman who seeks one, no reason needed, no explanation required, no questions asked, no judgment passed. It is the right of every woman to decide whether or not to continue a pregnancy, regardless of how she became pregnant. Consensual sex, rape, failed protection, no protection at all, whatever. Everyone makes bad decisions, and a child should never be used as a punishment. Nobody who is not totally committed to caring and nurturing a child should ever be made to bear one.

My worldview poses that any act which causes, exacerbates, or extends the duration of suffering is bad. Any action that prevents, lessens, or shortens the duration of suffering is good. Mind you, beings are free to endure suffering of their own volition if they so choose; suffering should not, however, be imposed upon others. Intentionally imposing suffering upon others without their consent is about as close as I'll come to defining 'evil'.

On this matter I have always thought a woman should have the right to decide what she does to her body. Who am I to tell somebody that they can't affect themselves because I may or may not agree with what they're doing?

I am 100% for abortion our population is SO high there needs to be a stop.

Most religious people will tell you that life starts at the conception since it is there that the soul get into the body .

Life is circular and ongoing so it certainly does not start at conception. Perhaps a unique and individual life, yes, but not the life itself.

Also the soul part is entirely debatable since there are no facts to support the concept of a soul to begin with. I personally do not believe a soul even enters the body until birth when a person takes their first breath of life, but obviously that's just my opinion. Someone may have a different one regarding 'souls'.

Killing a human can't ever be accepted, especially when the human is very innocent and harmless. Why would you kill babies, to save your own life or other people's life that's still acceptable, but to save your own or other people's dignity or any other reasons, fuck you, even when you got raped and get pregnant. True, abortion is the same thing as killing a human person, but many people tend to make mistake, especially at around the age of 18 to 21. If the couple are going out and taking their relationship serious, I can accept that, but there are relationship out their where people just go around to have sex. If abortion is abolished, then the percent of single parent will increase significantly. Then, before we know it, the USA government will force tax raise on us to help the poor people and fuck other people over other than the rich people.

But ultimately the mother of the unborn child should have the final say regarding the livelihood of the child, it is her responsibility after all. Furthermore, amongst other things, the circumstance under which the child was conceived must also be taken into consideration.

It's really that black and white. There is never any debate on the topic. There's people saying X, and there's people saying Y and then there are some middle ground that doesn't really make sense to anyone.

I wonder how people how are against abortion can face reality as there are millions of people who are murders. I myself has assisted and talked people into many of these killings. And I'm just walking about living happily while I keep getting people killed.

You're asking if Abortion should be legal or not, my answer is it should.
But, that does not mean abortion is moral, depending on the case, it isn't.

If some girls were raped and then they got pregnant, and they think they can't provide the kid inside her once it is born, then abortion seems to be the solution.

BUT, if some stupid teenager couple had sex and the gf ended up pregnant and she wants an abortion, I'd say she is fucking stupid for not using protection in the first place and if she did end up having an abortion, she just killed a baby because of hers and her bf's stupidity, then I'd be disgusted, but that does not mean she can't do abortion, it's her choice whether to atone it or to be a murderer.

Although if this is some teenage couple who truly wasn't ready and didn't use protection...it should be permissible for her parents to at the very least get them into a sex-ed class, or the very least talk the girl couple themselves.(you know, teach them about responsibility)

So, you're telling me a woman should have to keep and give birth to a child she never wanted? You want her to suffer twice? Sure, she could always give the child up for adoption, but our orphanages are already crowded as is. Why you'd want a parent to have to make such a difficult choice is beyond me.

Quite shocked about what? WE'RE modern society, d00d. So you aren't a fan of abortion. Doesn't mean that other folks shouldn't have that option.

Frankly, none of us have the right to tell anyone what to do. If a woman wants to get an abortion, I won't stop them. We all have our right to chose. That doesn't mean people should go to this option as a default. It needs to be taken under heavy consideration, and people need to view other options.

Now, for us who do say that we have no right to tell what a person can or can't do, i.e. telling a woman she can't get an abortion, let me put this on the table. Does the woman have any right to tell what any of us that we have the right to live or die for her convenience? We were all fetuses at one point, and that just begs the question, should we have to die for someone else's mistake? I know I may have worded this oddly, but really, we are living human beings. It's terrifying to think of what our mothers planned for us, weather or not we were worth the trouble of even raising.

I'm not sure who's the exception here, but hardly anyone here had their birth planned by their parents. Most of us were mistakes that just happened. Hell, me for example, was the result of a fling my mother had, and when my father found out, he skipped town. God knows how close I was to not being here today.

Really, it's a scary thought that as we are now, someone thought we weren't the trouble and could have ended us before we even had a name. To some of you, it doesn't seem like a big deal if you want to prevent a child's birth. Hell, some of you are talking about a child as though it were some kind of burden.

I talked to my health teacher some time ago, and he told me he was against abortion. I asked why, and he told me "A fetus has become nothing except a human. There has never been a case where a mother was pregnant with anything other than a human. So it it's not alive, it is a human, because that is what it will clearly become".

The way he spoke hit something in me, cuz it stuck. No matter how we see a fetus, it will become a human being, and going with an abortion will cut off any existence it ever had the chance of living. I mean, who could that child, if he was left to live, become? Given the possibilities, that child child could have grown to affect our very lives. He could have become the husband of our children. Could have been the first person on mars, or could very well have become the leader of a great nation, or even the founder of world peace. The possibilities could go on, yet we never really know how the child could have grown up.

Again, I have no right to say which is even right or wrong, even if the situations that people have been giving, I can't say. I want to say it's wrong, that we prevent a life before it has a chance, but I also have to allow the fact that given how difficult life is, we have to accept the fact that having a child is simply not an option.
