Do you enjoy seeing someone you dislike suffer?

When I was 13-14 there was this bully who was an asshole and made my life a hell. there were times I thought about killing myself and during that time and a bit after I wanted him to suffer as i did. But now i am all good. And dont think about him anymore and dont want him to suffer like that. I left my hate for him a couple of years ago.

Getting back on topic, I don't enjoy seeing others suffer. However, there are times when I do wish ill or retribution upon people whom I detest, regardless of whether I know them personally. Perhaps this is my (poor) manner of satiating my anger or hatred towards others, without committing any acts of folly in reality.

It's ok Gambler. I just wanted to post something but thought that it wouldn't fit the local scrupulous atmosphere so I asked you to move it for me. Though I doubt people need a good scientific explanation as to why we tell go fuck yourself either.

I will not stoop so low as to enjoy the suffering of those whom I dislike. It makes me no different than those who view their peers as mere pawns. I am indifferent towards people whom I dislike. While I dislike the person, he may be a treasured friend, husband, partner, brother to his peers. Dislike can lead to a cycle of hate; why bother then to sin deeper by enjoying seeing someone you dislike suffer? No matter how despicable a person can be, he/she is still a human and thus deserve the barest minimum of civility. Or perhaps I have not met anyone that deserves that treatment yet. Either way, I don't encourage enjoying seeing someone you dislike suffer; it's ugly sadism at its purest.

Someone getting what they well deserved for being an idiot or doing stupid shit, or all around making things worse for everyone around them, sure. But to the extent of suffering I find it rather distasteful to find enjoyment out of it. I am not one that really wishes ill will towards others it just causes more issues and not worth the effort.

I have felt that way before, I don't think I would dislike someone so much that I wish them to death.

I won't tell the reason why one one could help me anyway. Well i will give simple Example that bad guy (bad thing he is one house with you) make a joke with his friend about killing you in the beach someday (front of you), now what do you think? this is serious matter not joke anymore. Telling your friend, your friend will think you crazy. Telling your parent, your parent will take you to psychiatrist. No one believe you since his position more higher than you.
Wish someone death or suffer like hell is wrong, but if we talk about life threatening that thing is difference.

I'm indifferent on the matter. I don't really care enough to waste my energy on people despite what they say or do to me. With that said, no I don't enjoy people I despise to suffer because I don't despise people to begin with.

I honestly hate it when anyone is suffering. Even people I hate. For a while I will get a kick out of it but then morality kicks in and I start feeling bad for them. The only people who suffer I couldn't care less about are 75% of celebrities. Sorry but I won't cry if celebrity dies and make 8 dozen tribute videos to them like a fallen god or something.

Yes, at some point even death is a more generous offer, though, I wouldn't hate them to that extent for just being a bully or even betrays me, for me to get to that far takes years of hate.

I was watching the walking dead and the one guy on there "Shawn" was a complete dick to everyone and made everything wrong and always made the wrong chooses so over time i started hating him more and more then to the point where i wanted him out of the series.

As for real life hating and suffering?

Why yes, yes I do. I'm not going to actively seek revenge, but should something happen then I'll laugh and say "bayard" under my breath.

It takes a lot for me to dislike/hate someone to begin with. I feel 10x worse if it does happen and I was hoping for it to at the time. If it is something little, no big deal, they deserved it. It depends on how serious it is. I wouldn't intentionally make it happen, nor would I wish it if I knew it would come true.

Whenever I hated someone I usually tried to understand their actions and why they do what they do. I used to do this even when I was a kid.

In most cases I can easily forgive them, but some people just like watching the world burn and enjoy throwing people into the fire. Those types are usually products of bad upbringing and so I can understand why they do what they do.

There was only one time I truly hated someone, to the point where I would enjoy inflicting on them all sorts of horrific torture. It was one guy back in highschool, he had a good family ( I knew enough about them to know if they were secretly abusive), but he would just enjoy being abusive to anyone or anything.

It didn't surprise me when he was arrested for animal cruelty when he took a video of himself drowning a cat until death, and posting it online and talking about how 'thrilling' it felt. Some people are just born that way.

Not unless I genuinely consider them evil, and the only person I've thought of like that is my dad, who's already dead and gone. I'd probably be apathetic to someone's suffering if I didn't like them, though.

Sure. If they put me through pain then it's only fitting that they experience it as well. After all, karma is a bitch.

When I see a person I don't like or maybe not really care about suffer makes me feel like I lost my humanity so I don't enjoy seeing him/her suffer I'm too damn nice......

On a different perspective, yes.

Let me explain, I only wanna see idiots and such suffering because I want them to realize that their way of thinking, their bullshit, their personality in general is just plain garbage and hopefully they will realize their mistake and grow up.

But on a pleasurable point of view, never.
