Listen here, noob. I am not bashing shorthand OR 1337. I am talking about cryptic messages left by people who honestly COULD be completely understood if it weren't for the fact that they leave out punctuation, as well as butcher words and infect the page with dyslexia. And who do you think you are, waltzing in here and trying to tell me I have lost a war I haven't even fought in. Let me tell you something--Grammar Nazi is not a title I granted myself, it was something I was given throughout my various exploits on this board. And for someone of your own status to walk in here and pretend that you don't see things the same way as I is complete and utter lunacy. Look at how you post: with a few exceptions, that was an entirely-correct post. But I don't need an English major to know how to speak and write. I don't even need to go to college for that. All I need to do is
open my eyes. So don't try to flaunt your English major--it means nothing here. And, if you weren't such a noob, you would have realized that as time passed, I no longer corrected anyone. That is, however, unless someone pissed me off as royally as you just have. People like you don't understand how things go around here. When you come in and try to fix things that aren't broken, you only seem to exacerbate things. Honestly, tell me how to treat other people when you know yourself. Until then, enjoy a nice heaping mug of
STFU>FO.
Wow. You really don't read into things very well, do you?
They don't care. Hell, I don't care.
They post random blurbs with no attention to the basics of grammar because they just rightly don't give a flying f@#$. They may want attention, assume a different persona when online, or are just too lazy.
"Infecting" the page? What kind of crazy sociopathic world do you live in that you have to obsess over the methods that other people use to contribute to online communities? Do you really not have anything better to contribute than bashing other people for their grammatical context and mannerisms? Or people who contribute their own opinion to an open conversation in correct grammar, for that matter?
I didn't intend for my chosen field to come off as sounding self-righteous or pious. Nor did I mean to set myself up as an authority of any field. I merely stated that as a means to give a little depth to the kind of person I am, in that I can contribute other views on the subject, having studied various aspects of the language and its use in the thousand and a half years or so of existence. I'm no better than anyone else, merely differently-informed, and thus can inform differently other people. The entire purpose of stating that I'm an English major was to inform that it's a passion, and I am naturally attracted to its various uses and nuances, good and bad. So take my degree, and shove it right up your @$$ (supposing you can unclench for a moment), because I consider it to be worth about as much as toilet paper, really. And not the good, fluffy kind. I'm talking about the ungodly mix of tissue paper and tree bark that one finds in a public restroom.
You may not have personally sought out the title of "Grammar Nazi", but you willingly use it. I see no problem with that, until you start taking on the ideas that one half of that title infers. You spoke to a "ragakitty" about her posts. You claimed to sympathize with her for English not being her native language, and you applaud her for making her posts unique through color and smiley. Well-f@#$ing-done. I applaud you for your bigotry. Anyone who posts in such a manner that you detest is merely putting their unique mark on the page, along with every other person here, and there are very few people who can claim to have absolute judgement on whether or not they're "correct" in doing so. They are unique and correct in their own way, no matter how stupid it may seem or how much it may piss you off.
So slander me with the title of "n00b", oh great and wise "FAKKU Elite". Beat me down with your rants of stupidity and throw your biased and bigoted ideals at me, I gladly take them. I'd rather be a n00b than a [Grammar] Nazi.
There is something broken in this post, to counter your accusation. And this is where my previous statement comes in. YOU LOSE because YOU FAIL TO SEE WITH THE OPEN EYES YOU CLAIM TO HAVE.
(Also take note of my convenient little jab in your side with that last line. See? It's a play on what you've been ranting about. I'm pointing it out because I know you'll immediately overlook the context. I put the items in Caps because I'm accentuating, not yelling. I just don't care enough to go up and hit the Bold button or type the "bracket-b-bracket" code. Oh, silly, silly n00b that I be.)
