I find it really idiotic too, when many give such a nice argument and also wise counters, and to top it all of, you find it shitty and stay with your opinion.
I always used this example with MANY people so here goes :
" What don't you understand about logic, it is as if I keep telling you water is the most healthiest but you keep saying Coca Cola is the best to drink ALL THE TIME".
I am open to anything, as long as I gain knowledge from it, I am happy ... pride is certainly a wall everyone must overcome.

Discussions tend to devolve into petty bickering because people have a tendency to argue with opinions as opposed to facts.
The simplest answer I can give without going on another one of my long winded diatribes is "Human Nature". It is in out nature to refuse to accept that we are wrong because it would harm our ego's and thus our self esteem.

Agreed ... it is in fact human nature to want to stay on top .....
