Think about cultural differences as well. Ties are only common in north america for most male business people and in private schools with dress codes. But go to japan and you see something completely different, almost all school girls wear ties, nearly all business women wear ties and it's uncommon to find someone in business who doesn't wear a tie.

You know, I've been dealing with idiocy like this all day so far, I don't really have the mental energy to go on a rant.
And I'm not exaggerating either, I've been arguing with people who have incredibly radical ideals. It is my fault, admittedly, considering that I keep on going back to fight, but it's one of those instances where you just can't let such stupidity go, that there's some glimmer of hope that you can get through to them.
Alas, no such fate awaits me...
I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
I think I need to stop for the night before something in my head snaps.

Answering the OP post:
In my opinion a tie is not sexist or, at least, it should not be.
I have seen both, men and women, wearing ties and to be honest I like it more when women wear them rather tan men. In my humble opinion, men should not wear ties because they trend to buy ties with strange patterns and annoyings colors, whereas women normally get far more "fashionable" ties that fits with their suit or cloths.
Also, this kind of news are not "new" because, people, no matter who or what, will always find a way to twist something to create polemic and start a drama.

I think it's just someone really overreacting. Ties can be worn by both men and women. Not really anything sexist if you ask me. As a woman, I wouldn't be offended by the logo either.

Just like a dress is designed to go with a woman a woman(no sxist connotation, I assure you), a tie is designed to go with a suit. And it so happens that a suit is what people doing business wear. Becaus eit has for a long time been a world of men in suits and ties, it has become affiliated to business in a intimate way, just like they say in the article "You see a tie, you think business.".
And ties aren't only for men, or so I believe. Women can wear them as well. It just isn't seen as much, because it corresponds to the "tomboy" stereotype.
