Oh yes, the Escapist is truly a place for one to come across intellectual enlightenment.
I've grown to put a lot of thought into the state of gaming, anime and general internet culture and the rampant amounts of racism, sexism, homophobia. And don't any of you deny it. How many of us have made 'Get back in the kitchen' jokes, black jokes, called someone a fag, called someone a virgin or just stayed silent and watched others do the same?
Oh yes, it's fun stuff. I've made several homophobic jokes to a gay friend just today. We both laughed. Cause...they're jokes...they're funny.
Let me tell you all something; Shit like
This
Fucking lol.
This
His face sold it.
And this
Mmmhmm, Ah reckon. *spits tobacco*.
Is why we are constantly attacked by politicians, soccer moms and the like who are trying to get games banned and why we are generally shunned and labeled as a bunch of loud, anti-social, obnoxious assholes who live their entire lives on the computer and/or game console and treat everything in real life like a joke.
Concerning politicians and soccer moms? Wah. Seriously, they're not offended by any of these jokes. OTHER PEOPLE might be offended by these jokes, and the politicians try to appeal to them, and the soccer moms just want to feel good about themselves, as if them getting outraged over a black joke makes them look like 'the good guy' and here's a hint: It doesn't. And this little rant of yours is validating their insane moralizing. So good job, fag.
The best and most personal example of this was an episode of Kannazuki no Miko that I watched on youtube. And this one, Chikane supposedly snapped and turned into one of the Orochi, and part of that involved raping Himeko. We didn't get to see it, but goddamnit, the truth was there. The experience left poor Himeko shocked, hurt and turned her into a walking, weeping vegetable for another two-three episodes that spanned perhaps weeks into a month or two.
And that's a wonderful explanation as to the mental processes one may go through after a traumatic experience(I.E. how she ended up handling it, by becoming a non stop cry-person).
But, as serious and shocking as this was, the general reaction to that scene went something like this:”Oh, yeah that part was totally hot, Himeko is so lucky to be raped by Chikane, herp derp!”.... Are you fucking kidding me?! Rape is rape, it doesn't matter who it involves, it's still a crime, it's still physically, emotionally and mentally scarring and it's still-for these reasons-wrong on any level.
Seriously? Is this the focal point of your rant? Anime rape should be taken seriously on Youtube?
I want you to do something for me. Go look up a silly fiction death where someone's head explodes and a shower of blood and gore goes everywhere and look at the comments. Pretty standard comments are how unrealistic it is, and how cool it looks. Now go look at a youtube video of someone ACTUALLY getting seriously hurt, or someone flashing pictures of actual dead people on the screen and look at the comments then. Pretty standard comments are, "This is disgusting." or "Omg I can't stand this!"
So clearly the internet community has a very easy time distinguishing the fantasy, from the reality, and you're telling them, "No, even if it's purely fantasy you should react as if it's real." what exactly do you think entertainment is here for? To make us feel bad? No. Sorry, but you're fundamentally retarded if you think fictional violence should be taken even remotely as seriously as real violence.
It shouldn't fucking matter that this was an attractive girl raping another attractive girl should not matter and it DEFINITELY shouldn't somehow make it okay or hot or any shit like that. And no, it wasn't just one or two trolls saying this shit, it was nearly every fucking comment on that youtube page.
Again, fictional violence. It DOES matter that it's all fake.
And before any of you tell me that kind of shit doesn't happen here, allow me to direct you to exhibit D
Hot.
This, is fakku's own stake in the contribution to the internet culture's rampant sexism. And all of you complaining about the vanilla community's outspokeness against this sort of thing, they have a fucking right to. You know why?
Because everyone has the right to have a voice? Oh wait no, it's because you think there's something morally wrong with it, not because everyone has a right to speak out against something they don't like. That would make too much sense.
Because, the act of rape is very terrible thing;
And the act of rape being drawn out with totally fictional non human characters is a sexy thing.
it should not be treated lightly and it DEFINITELY should not be treated as a piece of fap material.
It should be when one finds it fap worthy...and...again...it's totally fake.
And that's exactly what shit like this
Says to me that the image of a girl being raped isn't something to be at the very least apalled about, but something to be titillated by and fap to.
You're learning then.
I'm not going to use the argument that “People who enjoy rape porn are capapable of rape”, but what I will say is that those of you who do should take a good hard look at what the fact that it arouses you for any reason and at all says about you.
It says I have a neurological function which exudes hormones when I look at a picture of something which the properties are that a clearly female woman is engaged in overly aggressive and sometimes violent sexual intercourse.
...So what?
And before you say that it's just a fantasy; I don't fucking care.
Oh I see. So when I draw me shooting a pistol into your avatar, that's just as bad as me murdering you then. Good to know.
The fact that you watch this sort of thing is wrong, that it arouses you and that you even have fantasies involving it shows that there's something wrong with you and you NTR and forced hentai lovers should all be ashamed.
Please provide for me the moral model you're employing in order to come to this distinction. Because so far, all you're doing is saying it's wrong without...really...explaining...why. I don't put up with it when christians and politicians do it...not gonna put up with it when you do it.
In fact every single one of you whose indulged in the racist/sexist/homophobic jokes should be ashamed. Every single one of you who stood back and did or said nothing for the sake of 'that's just how it is' should be ashamed.
I know I am.
Fuck that noise. I'll tell racist jokes to my friends who the jokes are being racist to, and because we have all come to an understanding that they're JUST JOKES, we'll all laugh, as we always have.
Let me ask you something, if someone made a joke about you, specifically, what would your course of action be To be offended and sue? Or to shrug it off and say, "I don't find it funny." Or what if it WAS funny? What if the joke about you was goddamned hilarious? Would you laugh like an honest human being or would you feel some sort of moral duty to be outraged?
This whole rant is just you getting on your high horse and talking down to Fakku'ers who have already seen this and lol'd at your stupidity.
Have you ever even considered the idea that you could be in the wrong on this one? Or is that just too far gone a conclusion that "No! I'm right and all the people who I said should be ashamed of themselves SHOULD be...because I said so!"
You're an asshole, and you don't know the first thing about ethics. Have fun with all the neg reps and people thinking you're a complete tool, and being right about it too.
