I would say that a middle ground exists, and that is where we need to be.
The problem here is that this type of argument could be made with anything seem to be a bad idea. This type of argument is generally used to stop change from happening.
Sorry, just had to point this out. I just don't think you are going dangerously close to logical fallacy.
