i was just pointing out a different way of percieving things ;)
i might have had a rough definition of the word "adapt"
but thanks for pointing that out: "humans change their surroundings rather than humans change to their surroundings"
so how about this:
if North pole of the magnet would attract the South pole of a magnet and all matter would attract each other (gravity) and a perfectly healthy modern man would get aroused when he watches porn, how exactly did life form?
as if life's main purpose is to preserve the pretty helix structure of protein by reproducing it as much as possible... and it went through so many ways, to do it...

i really believe that there is intelligent life outside earth other than us but in my opinion i think it's nearly inpossible for us to meet any because traveling in space means crossing billions and billions of miles. andother problem is that the universe continues to expand and because of that distances wil become bigger and bigger

personally I think there is life on other planets. Only thing is we will probably never meet them. Also if there isn't life on other planets, what a waste!!!

Not believing in an intelligent life outside of our planet is not only stupid but egotistical in a sense that you honesty believe that in an endless universe we are the smartest thing out there.
considering how old the universe is thats absurd that they can't be smarter then us we olny been around for about 100k years, if you think in the age of the universe thats nothing I'm sure things would have been around a lot longer then that not including stars and so on. As for why not coming down to see us face to face who knows maybe we aren't ready since we still bicker with one another over really stupid shit, or they just see no point in contacting anything beneath them that they wont learn anything from. also im sure we are smarter then somethings out there as well, and if we found them we would just wanna know how they work and thats all like they can teach anything new
Why is it that whenever people think of other intelligent life forms in the universe like humans, They always assume they are so much more advanced than us?(other than the fact that we've "seen" UFOs and the such) It's always been a burning question in the back of my mind whenever i see discussions about other life forms in the universe.
My view on the whole thing is that there are indeed other intelligent Life forms in the universe, but i really don't think they are any better off than we are currently in the sense of reaching us. I mean, if they were any bit as curious about us as we are them, what would be the point of picking random people up and sticking thing's up their ass' for so many years if they had the ability to just come meet us from the start? I know we humans wouldn't be doing that, we'd be down there learning more a lot quicker.

Well the problem about finding life on other planets is that there are so many different planets, and I know that's obvious, but that's not what I meant, what I mean is that life is extremely variable. what we're looking for is life that's the same as us, but, we're alien racist's, we aren't looking at all the planets (that would take longer than the current progression of human history, so that may be a wise decision) and we're also searching for radio waves as a sign of life. If the earth was just slightly different a few million years ago, turtles would rule the earth (some of them would be ninjas) and I don't think that turtles would be making talk shows. so we may be just passing over all non intelligent life forms that are out there.
So in Brief, I think that yes, there is life out there

I would just like to say that I think that the question of is there life on other planets is a yes or no thing. Science can only prove so much but science is we observing the world around us. If one day the universe decided to change we couldn't say but science says you can't do that. Oh and ya I think that life on another planet exists. But then a whole round of what exactly is life comes into play. :)

They're not really adaptable since they could only thrive around stagnant small bodies of water.
The most adaptable are probably single-celled animals which name I could never recall, and the most adaptable invertebrates are probably roaches.

Yeah, frogs, toads and other amphibians in general are typically very sensitive to environmental changes and pollutants. Thats why you hear news stories about toads popping in germany and all that stuff. Although I guess they do deserve some credit for the whole gender swapping thing in specific situations.
But yeah, life can be adapted to all sorts of environments. I mean, we've found various organisms living in deep sea thermal vents at ridiculously high temperatures and under think layers of ice with little or no light and sub-freezing temperatures.

With the universe being the vast and infinite space that it is, it is almost impossible for there not to be at least one other planet that can supprort life.

Your assuming that any intellegent life thinks the same way we do, they may walk on two legs but have a different body configuration.
for example, three arms ,eyes on shoulders, brain in the backside(explains the anal probing somewhat) etc etc
Due to being different form humans they will think differantly just because they are different, Then you have their logic,ethics and whatnot.
Any alien we meet will be unlikely to be like anything we have thought of (unless chance attacks)
