Logic to a man, can make absolutley no sense to a woman, and vice versa. i have been told things by a woman that left me utterly speachless. then, when i repeated it to another woman, she looked at me like there was something wrong with me. i know i'm not the only man this has happened to, and i'm sure i've said things that were perfectly clear to other men, but made no sense to women.
i wish i could cite something specific, but my brain just isn't wired that way*. so...i'd like to hear from both factions, something you heard from the opposite sex that left you confused. then we can discuss.
my purpose is to try and gain a better understanding of what can sound like a foreign language at times.

Society and difference of values has sculpted each human differently I guess. You view of some things may be different from another persons because of the environment you grew up in.

It's not that debates between the sexes are confusing. Even conversations between friends can be confusing. Most of my friends can't follow my logic, and I sometimes can't follow theirs.
Females think on a different level than us, so it takes an effort to connect our brains to that level.

Despite all claims to gender equality, boys and girls are still brought up very differently. The core of this issue stems from the fact, that women use different handles to perceive and relate to the world than men.
Men tend to be more direct - when they say something, they're more likely to mean exactly what they say. While they seemingly have a more "down to earth" approach to living they're just as biased as woman. Whenever the talk comes to their self-image or their portrayal of it, expect some major posturing.
Woman are a lot more conscious of the social implications of their life. When they speak they often try to imply such connections. Men may misunderstand this as hysterics about vague feelings... which it is, since most of our relations are built around our impressions, and gut feelings. However a man may utterly fail to grasp the mechanism of this and hence won't "get it".
This does not mean that men are more self-centered, whereas women are only thinking about the group... far from it. A women may be just as much a selfish bitch as the next selfish bastard, it's the perception of reality that's often different.
Women tend to see themselves through their relations and this is why they can be so important for their self-image, while men start from their self-image and view their relations through how they might fit it.
Next time a men/woman baffles you, try to examine what the situation might seem like deprived of the actual substance at hand and focus on the general signals that accompanied the exchange... chances are you might come to some startling realizations. People are crazy regardless of gender, though I'm inclined to say that us women are more crazy. It's very rare to actually click with someone on every level, if you find someone who understands you even a little then you are truly blessed :3

Women has active parts of their brains to preserv the human specie (it was when humans must hunt and fight for survival, and women developed that skill as any other specie), to get it, they must developed the ability of comunication, multitask mind, and sexual control over men. Men developed in cosecuence the logical mind, physical endurance, and the protector duty.
With the pass of ages, women used their emotions and physical atractive to keep the pressure over men, that way, childs can grow in a safe enviroment and our specie can continue spreading. Do you know that the first settlements of humans where ruled by women?, and its true.
After more ages of evolution, we reach actual age. Women still have those abilities, and we those needs (of protection, not other things). Women adapted to a money-survival sistem, as we do.
So, ending this, differences are just for survival. Think about a world were all people wants someone to protect, or all wants to make believe others that they must protect us, humans will be extinguished.

I don't think all men really think about sex. I think men worry about women thinking that they are thinking about sex or at least that's what I think about when I meet a pretty girl.

At the end of the day we should all come to the conclusion that intelligence does not play a factor into the personalities and mannerisms of men and women (not that this is what this thread is about, but it's worth mentioning regardless). Women tend to be more emotional thinkers, and men tend to be more rational thinkers.
So so interesting articles.
But they are so overly pretentious that it's pretty difficult to take too seriously.
edit: Not to mention that well, a lot of it is entirely opinionated if not quite wrong.
