Should Prostitution be legal?

I know there are already topics related to sexuality, but i wanted to focus specifically on prostitution(if there is a topic on this already i aplogize, but i could not find one such topic). I personally believe it should be legal. My main reason is that i feel making it illegal has turned it into a much more exploitative industry than it needs to be. With legalization, the government could use regulation to reduce this. With regulation, the power would be in the hands of the prostitute, instead of some so called "pimp." I mean, porn stars are basically prostitutes, so i don't get why prostitution is illegal while the porn industry continues to grow

Hahaha has anyone ever watched the History Of Prostitution? It was a well respected industry and was only seemed as wrong when the rise of the church came (Among other movements >.>) ^^ I personally dont care either way since the veiw of prostitution might not change in the eyes of the public view point for a very long time *It took forever to make people think of it as bad LOL*
