Now, objectively, can anyone say my comments, opinions or observations treated the members of the African-American community with hatred and intolerance? Of course not,
I said nothing against them as people and as individuals.

I cited, a collective failure on the part of the African-American community. A failure they don't deny themselves, but rather make excuses for it. Our society indeed hasn't developed that much, we're still at a phase where these excuses are deemed acceptable.

The reality should be: In this day and age, you should be reasonably educated, it should be reasonably possible to get a good job or to make social/economic advances. In the decades and years to come, we should be seeing poverty go down, not up.

The fact that we saw the opposite, is social failure. The fact that such behavior is the mainstream, is social failure. Acknowledging this social failure, and calling out the particular group that isn't performing up to task for it, is not bigotism.

Infact, I imagine if Dr. King were alive, he would also call them to task for their failure in this regard.

You do realize that a bigot never thinks of himself as a bigot nor does a racist think of himself as racist, but that doesn't make it any less of a reality. You, however, are so far out in left wing that you don't seem to want to accept that there is ANY truth whatsoever to what people are telling you - and by people, I mean pretty much every single person who you've tried to "debate" with thus far. Aren't you tired yet? No one, and I mean NO ONE, is going to give you the credibility that you think you deserve for your skewed ideologies.

Find one thing that I said that was bigoted, or racist towards the African-American community and I'll call myself a racist. That's just it, there isn't none or you would've already cited an example of such. And couldn't I say the same for you and others?

Your thoughts, are of opinions on what you think reality is or should be, but it is not so in the present day. Or, even with it's present existence, you don't want to acknowledge the social failures of the "new era". Being among the "in" crowd isn't special, especially considering the lowered scores as far as education is concerned.

And what skewed ideologies? That the African-American community hasn't done nearly as much as it could have and should have? That, the time for blame for Caucasian-Americans has long since come to an end? Or that we need to uphold a social identity in order to function in society?

Sadly, the media does not uphold minorities to account for their lack of success but at least the idea of a social identity is for now anyway, a widely accepted fact.

This is just an IBer's poor attempt to try to lighten up the mood beset upon this thread now, but I just though, since racism is being discussed, this would be relevant, or at least get a giggle out. If not, I apologize in advance. It IS satire, of course.

Incredible how people are so quick to use the race card when faced with any view that doesn't put blacks in the position of victims. They have, historically, been victims of great discrimination and they were until recently victims of discrimination, but their current social position is by no means the byproduct of discrimination alone. Much to the contrary, this self-image perception of “me” as “victim” alone does more harm to their efficiency as a social group than the centuries of discrimination in the past, its a self castrating perception.

Lustful arguments do not come without basis, or even that matter, without the acknowledgment of the blacks themselves. Thomas Sowell -- a black economist, political philosopher and social theorist born in the 30s who built his own career despite all the social perceptions of that time and obviously felt by himself what discrimination means -- knows it. He spent 15 years of his career studying discrimination, to write three master pieces on the subject: “Race and Culture”, “Migration and Culture” and “Conquests and Culture”, to finally conclude that racism has little to account for the current social position of blacks in western society. He is still alive, completed 82 years this past June, and is still talking about and studying further the subject, and still holds the same position. The proofs he holds for such argument are many, too vast to cite all of them here, but basically, many other groups also suffered severe discrimination and managed to come out differently than modern blacks in general, historically (that is, if you want a severe resume of his work). And the reason for that is simply because the factors which define the outcome of a social group are so many, so vast and complicated, that to account only discrimination for it would be ridiculous.

Seriously people, if you want to continue to discuss this subject you have to confront your own first reactions to know which argument is sane and which one is emotional. First impressions alone are not enough to discuss such delicate subject. I'll leave Thomas Sowell's speech here to see if we can start again without the “bigot” or race card.

Reading his speech was one of the most amazing things I've read in a while, he acknowledges the differences between the geographical planes, among many other things as an element in Social Development and Social Theorem. Acknowledging the existence of discrimination, while putting proper context on it's meaning. And my favorite quote from it, is this:

May I wish Mr.Sowell a happy 82nd birthday, and thank you 42 for allowing me the privilege of learning about this political philosopher and social theorist :).

Wow I took a month break from fakku due to some hard drive issues i was having with m desktop computer, i didn't expect people to still be posting on m thread.

I read a bunch of the post and i have some replies to a few of them and some arguments against others, but i dont feel like directl addressing any of them.
So instead I'll just make a few statements.

Blacks have grown accustomed to a life that doesn't lead to success so there aren't man real-life role models for the younger black to be motivated to succeed. Blacks had always been at an disadvantage due to that fact that they were treated as lesser beings and second-class citizens since the birth of the nation in 1776 and even before the birth of the nation. Barrack Obama is just an exception of the man blacks that fail while attempting to strive for better lives. "I try to pursue careers but employers would rather hire someone who's 'white' to fill the position." Based on what I've seen in the past, in blacks history i can tell that blacks would continue to fail(hypothetically stated by a black). This is a white man's world.

Everything from the last paragraph was the stated to excuse blacks and they're actually the reasons why blacks struggle in society. I constructed that ideas behind the last paragraph based on m experiences, and observations of how blacks have treated blacks in society. Although, these previous statements are true, they're the ideas of blacks who have no intent to become successful in life. I started this thread to see the perspectives people view blacks in and to change those perspectives whether they were positive or negative. I wanna change them to being neutral. I don't want anyone to think of the blacks as being superior or inferior in any way. The reason being is that the world should be transparent in its view of other races, in m opinion.

Okay, back on topic, those ideas are the thoughts of blacks who dont wanna be successful at life because they're the thoughts of victims. Black regarding themselves as victims is nothing but making a mocker of themselves, its renouncing all the past struggles of the people who share their ethnicity, its plain disrespect. I want blacks to start using the language of, not victims, but creators. I want them to be responsible for any disgrace they bring to themselves or to the race of blacks. I want them to not make excuses but to make solutions, creating a better race.

Although, we've been in the underdog position for centuries, I will rise to the top. I'm gonna reach m goals. I will not be treated as a second class citizen because i'm gradually rising to the 1st position. The other people's of the world better settle for the seats of 66 billionth place in the world, because im number 1 and my 65 billion brothers and sisters are taking up the following spots. These are the thoughts of someone who will be successful in life and are thoughts i wish to instill in all blacks. I really hope to instill it in anyone of any race who seems to not be successful in life but im just saying blacks since the topic is about blacks.

I said i won't address anyone with my post but i can't fight the urge. @Lustful angel I can tell you a very logical person, and your correct with many of your arguing statements, but i think that you speak as victim because you pointing out the shortcomings, yet you hadn't tried to offer some kind of solution. I have solutions but i don't really feel like typing it all out now, since i wasted some water on m keyboards and im typing using an on-screen keyboard.

Why on how the people with more melanoma in there skin can get over this growth stunt and stop making a mockery of themselves. I hate to see people of my complixtion not do anything to benfit humanity...aka the ones in the gettho etc who dont ispire to be anything that benfits there fellow human beings.Its Fucking sad that its ended up like this and I hope it changes soon.

Okay, because of how deep-rooted this is, its not something that can be solved within a few years it would have to take generations, but the solution is simple, and it happens to be something that my mother did.

I go to neumann u, but im a commuter and the neighborhood i live in is comprised of many people who dropped out of school before 10th grade. Now the thing that an individual would have to do to remedy this neighborhood is simply become successful in their lives. Because i've seen it, when people find out that someone from these dilapidated neighborhood is a celebrity or a success in life, they'll aspire to become like them, to follow in their foot steps. Also, if people raise their children well and deny them any opportunities to give up in school, deny them any opportunities to become drug dealers or anything like that. Bad children are likely to be the product of bad parenting.

With time the people living in these slum-like neighborhoods would be working class citizens, and the neighborhood surely wouldnt look as they currently do. And who knows instead of referring to places as "projects" maybe people'll call it complexes. the sound is a little better to me that way

Mm... how do i view them.. well, they're fine as long as they don't pull their history up on me. Can't stand people who uses their race as an added excuse to their lack of abilities; an individual may belong to one race but their lives is not a collective so it just annoys me. In short, I don't like black people who spews "we black people suffered discrimination!" at something as shallow as a bar fight. In this day and age, they should choose where to say it rather than seemingly put it up on arguments that doesn't even question races.

Sorry if my English is bad. I am mixed with black,white,Chinese,and Cherokee. I've seen the best and worst of each worlds. I won't say i am very knowledgeable, but I went through all the pages and I don't like any of this thread, it's gonna be hard to get anybody on either side to change their viewpoints so easily, and all this will do is lead to more "bashing" and members arguing worse. This really needs to stop here, it's not achieving anything positive.

lol black ppl are awesome, i lived in the hood for my first 13yrs. but its so easy n fun to make raciest jokes, they do the same to white ppl! lol one time on thxgiving my friend travons mom was maken before dinner fried chicken xD while were eating i tell him how im allergic to fruit, he takes a bite of chicken 'mmmm, fuck man...i dont think i could make it if i couldnt eat watermelon with my fried chicken" xD so alot of the stereotypes r actually true x3

All in all my general belief of the Blacks (African American is politically incorrect) is that more and more of them are beginning to wake up and realize more and more what they need to do with their lives. I live around blacks and I'm pleasantly surprised to see how many of them are planning for the future and carrying these plans out to live better lives than their parents. However the constant focus and blaming of others brought by the topics of slavery and the Civil rights movement are holding the ethnicity as a whole back. Once that is more a less over and they look at themselves they will see there is more work to be done.

Just do what I do; blame all of the world's problems on California.

They can't even pronounce "merry" (which has the "e" of "bet") "Mary" (which has the "a" of "scary") and "marry" (which has the "a" of "hat") correctly.

Makes me glad that I'm in the northeastern U.S.
