It really does seem to be a real issue with extremities and groups such as that, but judging from my own personal experience, I'd have to say that being an omnivore is truly freeing... while I am to eat plants to save animals, I am to eat animals because it is not in my nature to eat
only plants, if we weren't meant to eat meat, we wouldn't do so.
I can
absolutely agree with the main vegetarian cause with saving animals by changing their diet, but WHAT PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH, is that
some of them are so blinded by their belief that they are being totally hypocritical(
I'm not saying that anyone's not a hypocrit, but it is how much of one you are). One time, at a party, had a vegetarian friend, I had no arguements with that, as we can be who we choose, but it annoys me to no extent to see them not adhering to what they believe that they're spewing to others. We ordered pizza, and one of the most common toppings; pepperoni. It is of course... meat, so she would not be inclined to eat it. I understand that she would not eat meat to save animals, but... later on I see her picking off the pepperoni from the pizza then tossing it in the garbage bin... it obviously ticked me off. It is of no difference than devouring it yourself in the sense of destroying it, but it is differs completely in the sense of saving/destroying animal lives. She would go on about how animals are being cruelly treated(I know that! Haven't you ever seen KFC backstage?
, but she would not even give purpose to the thing that was killed for that meat(obviously can get more extreme than just some pizza topping). At such a time as being confronted with something that is dead in front of you, no time to feel sorry for it, it would be two choices, eat it or dispose of it/leave it, disposing it/leaving it wouldn't really serve much of a purpose besides possibly being a message to others, or having it return to the earth(haha, too optimistic, it'll just rot and be food for others, yay). It outraged me to see such a sight and the sudden realization of... sure, vegetarians might be saving the lives of some animals, but what is making it possible for some of those animals to live? Basic essential needs for animals is derived from; plants. We are just not protective of some plants because there is an abundance of them, but when the shortage starts affecting animals, all of a sudden we care, instead of caring about a part of the cycle, think of the entire situation, please, I'm begging,
ignorance may be bliss, but it sure is damn pathetic. Open to disagreements, but it is just stemming from what I am seeing in some vegetarians, and if any of them have read this, if meat is in front of you, and noone is willing to eat it, and that you'll know it'll go to waste otherwise, I'd like to know; would
you eat it?
