Can you at least read my words as I mean them rather than putting your own context to my words (Now, I know how Waar feels). Though, I agree that I threw that line out there a little too casually. The point of my argument was:

Good/Evil are subjective. Germany saw itself as liberators (of Aryans). Europe saw Germany as invaders. Hitler killed Jews and Communists. Trampled the rights of his citizens (secret police,etc) We see that as senseless slaughter and violation of basic human rights. Hitler Germany saw themselves as ridding themselves of the people who were ruining their country. So who is right? Germany or Europe? Why are they right? When you look at it in modern times. America sees itself as liberating Iraq and Afghanistan. People of the Arabic world see it as invasion by the west and overthrowing their respective governments to install a puppet "Pro-west" government. So who is right in that context? Are we justified by invading their country even though we mean the best (just go with me on this I don't want a anti-bush/anti-war rant going on) or are we the villains here? Everybody has their side.

Do I approve of Hitlers actions? Fuck no, and I am in no way shape or form promoting Hitler. The man's desire was to restore Germany. He instilled a feverish nationalism into the hearts and minds of the German people. He pulled the country out of a pathetic economic state. Reinvented the tactics of modern warfare. I'm sure there are a few others I can't remember off hand. To the German people he was a Hero at the time. He became a godly figure to his people. To the rest of the world though he was a madman, a murderer, etc. I am not trying to say "aww Hitler wasn't a bad guy. Give the man a break". If I could I would go back in time to put a bullet through the fuckers head to prevent all that bullshit from happening the first time.

Do some research once in a while. Not everything isn't 2-Dimensional as a high school textbook would make it seem.

Also, where the hell do I come across as ignorant(I won't take "well I'm German so I know better than you" as a valid argument)? I would really appreciate it if you would actually read my words in context rather than putting your own context to them. Ask anybody here on FAKKU and I'm sure they will tell you that I know what the fuck I'm talking about when I post.


If you're talking to me Dante. I think the Holocaust was a horrible violation of basic human rights and is a stain on the German history. I think the people who deny the holocaust are the ignorant ones.

Okay I really can't say Hitler was 'good' or was in fact totally 'evil' I can say he was a very intelligent person (not in the things he did, but the ways he got around to doing it) it takes leadership and smarts to run a country, and this man, despite his wanton slaughter of innocents and such, had both.

Was Hitler ~"AN"~ evil person? Probably, but that little mustache of his, now that thing was 100% pure, concentrated evil. However, seeing as Hitler was responsible for millions upon millions of death and much misery and suffering, maybe we can all, at least, agree that he was an asshole? Now that that is done I'm on to "MY" opinion. Good and Evil is a perspective. There is no divine factor that separates the two. All of us can judge, all of us have opinions,lives and beliefs. Regardless of how "good" you claim to be there is always someone against you, always. That's what free-agency is all about. There's a saying I go by "Do what is right let the consequence follow". What's right is for me to decide, but I can't choose my consequences. Hitler is no different from anyone of us. I'm sure in his eyes he thought he was doing was right, but in my book Genocide is unacceptable. I'm no heavenly judge nor divine arbiter of justice. I am York, a man who stands in his beliefs.

I don't want to sound like a sceptic but Hitler imo was not a evil person in the sense that he did everything only to cause pain for the Jews and to only do it because he just wanted them dead. I believe that Hitler had a mental problem and was not of sound mind. Maybe he was truly evil, but he is dead and as someone else said winners write the history books. (sorry for not posting ur name and giving u credit but can't find right now)

I assume that the general consensus of the idea of good and evil are subjective is what pisses off Lord_Helmchen. If Lord_Helmchen is German like I heard then I can see where he is coming from. Hitler is a stain on the German history due to his numerous war crime and violations of human rights.

On a side note: Who de-repped him? The man has every right to disagree with my (or anyones) views. Though I would have preferred him to counter back with evidence that pure good/evil exist. He needed to defeat my argument with a better one or point out the flaws in it. Insulting me and calling me ignorant isn't going to change my opinion.

Great Post. In the end what you have to remember is the one who is right is the victorious one.

In every war mankind has had there was a victorious side and a losing side. The losers had to follow the orders and policies of the victorious. After WWI and Germany having lost the war, the country was a sinking ship. It was utter disaster. The country had it's government completely deprived of any real power and the economy was controlled by the Jews. Everything inside out was out of control of the Aryan people. This is why such a tragedy as WWII. A country felt oppressed to the point they saw a saviour in Hitler. Do you think that the German people agreed with everything their new leaded did? Of course not. They just saw him as the only one capable of taking them out of such a shitty situation.

With that said, If Hitler had won the war I doubt we would see him as evil it's just that the winner decides of what is wrong or right. (wink wink your history books you are so proud of might have history written in some way but it might not reflect what really happened. Keep that in mind)

In short "The winners decide who was right". Though it goes with my argument. To one person somebody might seem like a madman. To another he is his hero. Which ends up with the whole thing being subjective. I hate taking my information from one side since you never get the whole story. Best thing to do about anything is get the story of both sides then come to your own conclusion.
