What are your thoughts on gore/brutality

If someone masturbates to gore, they deserve to be thrown into an asylum as soon as they can. Those are the people that commit those horrible unspeakable murders.

Although I don't really mind gore in videogames, television, ect. I dislike it in hentai/manga. It makes it pretty much impossible for me to fap to. I've said this before and it seemed to be weird to some, but I don't really like a hentai image or video if the girl seems to be getting tortured.

Basically:

Gore in videogames/television= fine with me
Gore in hentai/porn= Not good, keeps me from feeling interested

I kind of stare at it, blink, continue staring. Shock factor, really. It's not something that incites puking, but I can't fathom how to become aroused by it.
I just sort of accepted that people are different and there's some sort of psychological reason for why someone might be attracted to that sort of thing.

What about people masturbating to the fantasy of rape/being raped? That is a similarly vile crime but seems to be alot more accepted in these parts of the internet. Not to mention only a very selected few would actually commit these crimes in reality and even less want it to happen to themselves, although they fantasize about it.
You can't lock someone up for his thoughts, at least not in what most of us would consider a healthy society.

Some would argue that Eroguro is trying to sexualize something that isn't sexual in any way or should not be sexualized but they forget that the same could be said about alot other fetishes/kinks/paraphilias.

However, while I don't agree with the way he delivered it I still agree with Fiery_penguin_of_doom that seeing a therapist isn't the worst idea.

Quite alot humans have mental disorders (or you could say there are no mental disorders just extreme personality traits) but most are so minor and contained that nobody gives a shit as long as they don't disturb your normal functioning in society, we just call them quirks or kinks, when they express itself sexually, respectively.
A perfect humanity would only perform consensual heterosexual sex in the missionary positon solely for breeding purposes but we all know that is not the case.

But I think the fantasy of wanting to stick it into someone innards, brains or cutting of their heads to use it for a literal skullfuck is something that goes a bit beyond a simple power fantasy and can possibly be the herald of much deeper problems with yourself and your surroundings that could severly impair your ability to function as a productive human being.
That doesn't has to be the case, of course.

Personally, I think there may be more than one way to "get off" to gore, physical and mental.

Physical is obvious, you get off to killing, dismemberment, etc. which is all fine and good, keep it in the closet where it belongs. I even enjoy a bit of edgeplay (just blood, but even that can be dangerous if you arn't careful, aware and understanding of the hazards). The real problem manifests when someone brings something like guro or any edgeplay into the -real- world or forces someone who does not wish to be a part of something into it. That's the line I draw. To be honest, if someone honestly consents to having their limbs rent from their body for the enjoyment of others, w/e, it's their life, it would make me limp in half a second and I will have no part of it.

This is where things get a little blurry. Mental satisfaction derived from the agony of another creature is commonplace nowadays, as this definition includes video games, movies, etc. because in one form or another, it satisfies something inside your head. Maybe it's "omg I decapitated that guy so cool" or "wow, that was a really good suspense/horror/mystery movie." Same as the physical type, the problems occur when you bring these thoughts and feelings into the real world. When you stop decapitating on a video game and start doing it in real life or begin the composure of an intricate mystery starring you as the main character, this would be where serial killers come in.

Now, I concede that these are two very general categories and we are -all- placed into one or the other, no matter how minimal a level, even rough sex would fall under the first (it's a very mellow version lol). Just like hentai, different people enjoy different kinds and levels of intensity, though they need to have the intelligence to understand when they need not share it with others (controversial: guro and vore).

More to the original point, I have no problem with fake gore, it's very obvious to spot. I don't get off to the stuff, I even have trouble going with flat-out rape. I would think someone who got off to fake gore was kind of odd, but really have no problem with it, though I would rather have not known. Now if I knew they were going at the real stuff, then I would let them know that we were going to get ice cream and promptly drop them off at an insane asylum.

Not to say I don't have my malfunctions, i like rough sex and blood. Prime knows I get off mentally to a good action game. But I know enough not to force the first on someone and not to bring the second into reality.

i think it can either make or break a movie. realism is the key if you know about blood splatters and viscosity then i think that that would help to make a good gore fest.

however you usualy get some asshole director who just wants to throw around as much blood as possible such movies are usually cult status.

i believe gore is a very real part oif living and before you die you will! see gore and i think that desensitizing it in movies allows you to better react to situations of extreme gore like a car crash or terrorist bombing so gore isn't all bad.

Just to be clear this is what I was denouncing. I like watching a good horror flick just like anyone. The movie my first girlfriend and I saw was Jeepers Creepers. The problem with "getting off" to anything is next time you have to do a little more. Fantasizing to rape or guro can eventually lead to "hitting the wall" which means the only way to "get off" that time is to actually do it.
