Ok looks like I got to pull out the big guns now. What if your God(s) were to told you that he/she want you to be an atheist what would you do?
You call this the big gun? LOL.
Alright, I'll answer you with another question.
Would you buy a dog, then give your dog to a stranger?
Would you work your ass off, and then give all your money to stranger?
Is there any chance of those question that I asked you to have a "yes" as an answer?
Actually I might actually do it depending on my mood, so what is your point? I really like to give to the extreme.
Why create something that won't benefit you, or at least, please you?
If that does not satisfy you, let's use a real life example.
Pets. They have a choice of running away from their master to explore and live life as they please. But, take a look at dogs or cats. They choose to stay with their master. Why? They get benefits such as shelter and food.
Of course, they are being "controlled" by their master. They are told where to go when they need to pee or poo, they are told which room they can be and which they can't be in. They can just run, and not come back, but, they choose to stay, why?
Because they get these benefits.
Sure, right now, you don't see the benefit of being in a religion, there is no concrete proof of what benefit you would get by believing and practicing a religion.
But these people such as myself that are practicing a religion can see what benefit we obtained by believing in our respective religion.
