Whats your View to the Germans

So everybody (I think so) knows that im a German Girl and of course Hisagi made a same topic as this for Americans so i stole it.
But whats your view on Germans?
Because in Chatrooms or Tv all Americans say to Germans that we are a Sauerkraut-Eater or a little Hitler.
So i just want to know if its true.
Please post a little bit.

Well, in a technical sense it's true that you're Sauerkraut eaters. German food is it not? The lil - hitler shit is all thanks to Robot Chicken which was meant to be for lolz but some asshole americans(I say this because I live in america and a lot of them are assholes) probably say that shit to Germans cause it makes them feel better knowing they've made fun of someone.(They want a huge E-Penis)

Nah but seriously, i've talked to a few germans when playing WoW and such and they're pretty cool.

Being German seems to have really nothing to do with being a racist nazi douche. We have plenty of racist nazi douches in America, and most of them are just stupid rednecks.

The first thing that came to my mind about Germans were that they drank beer 24/7, at the age of six to get conditioned to it. Then all the other stuff follows, the sauerkraut/sausage eaters, the WWII stigma, and that you're all blonds.

But honestly, I think of Germany as a nation of beer drinkers who created the BMW and is one of the more financially stable and better nations in the EU. I love German beer and sausages though, most definitely.

All German girls are hot (at least the ones I know). Since I live in Canada and we have the whole multiculturalism thing going on here, I get to see a lot of people from other countries. Anyways, all the German girls I see or talked to have always been hot. Don't know why but I guess it must be the whole genetic thing.

A majority of Nazi's take refudge in America due to our right to freedom of speech. Nazi symbols and the like are banned in Germany so they can't hold rallies there.

On topic: What little exposure to German culture I have makes me interested. I'm very interested in the beer Gardens, seeing some of the cathedrals, autobahn, etc. There are a lot of things about Germany that I like but, as much that I like there is even more about Germany that I don't know. Since I have never had an in depth conversation with a German I can't really have an pinion about the German people. What little I know about Germany, I like.

Part of the problem with the sauerkraut, beer drinking and bratwurst is that most foreign people think about Bavaria (Bayern) when thinking about Germany. The only problem is that germany consists out of more states then Bavaria.

When ever I was online and playing with some others guy and said I am german, they instantly said sauerkraut and bratwurst as well as lederhosen.

guess we have to live with that imagination forever.

but at least most countrys think that we are hard working people, guess that makes germans to a good human ressource.

Well I'm half German and I went to Germany last year. One thing that bothers me though.. When I was there my favorite food was Schnitzel(sp?). Yet my relatives and my cousin who was stationed there kept hinting at me not to eat too much, for some reason I couldn't get out of them. Some hidden urban myth, innuendo, joke, addiction, etc, or were they just messing around? Lol.

On a side note the beer over there was awesome. Hefeweizen (sp?). And I don't usually like beer cause it tastes like crap over here in the states. >.>

Despite being American the culture I live in is very German based. I live in Pennsylvania where Pennsylvanian Dutch is - we get German customers at work occasionally (visiting from Germany) and they're always very nice people, and they comment on our towns names and such. I find their accents cute too lol

Rammstein and E Nomine are bands I think of when I think of German.

Myself - I'm almost completely German by blood, but I'm sure there's some mixtures of stuff somewhere in there. But my whole family is German and I've got a german last name too, it's a sucky one though - the meaning anyway.

Because its part of my history and the area I live in I don't have any qualms towards Germans.

When I think of Nazi's too - I don't necessarily think Germans. Just because you're a Nazi doesn't mean you're German.

that we all drink beer in our childhood and that we like hasellhoff is just... funny xD maybe this belongs to the older generation, that might be true, but the new generation is totally different :) I myself for example don't like beer and haselhoff is just laughable :roll:
Although I understand your opinion, there are always prejudices about the people in a country and i think, that this are prejudices we can live with :wink:

Germans loving David Hasselhoff is a basic law of nature. If this isn't true, then up could be down, black could be white, and Hasselhoff's music could be good. It would be a terrible world to live in.

Also, Schnitzel is delicious. My culture doesn't really have any good food. I'm Irish. We just boil shit and drink enough not to taste it.
