Which is better, believing in a god or not?

There is no right or wrong path though. It's thinking that any one religion is better than every other religion that has caused all the piddly little problems we have with religion today. If you like the ideals of something follow it. If you don't, don't follow it. Just because people have different beliefs doesn't make them right or wrong, it just means that those are their beliefs.
And that people, is how Religion should be treated.

I am an atheist but to logically explain my answer I believe atheism is better as it contains less restrictions. Also it allows for a more open mind to science and logical thinking which is important for intellect.

For me I could only say seeing is believing. I don't believe in God because no one could proof its existance.

You're opening yourself to options which in my book counts as a "free-thinker".
As for the main religions that use the bible, i see no benefit from religion.
But it is good to hear that people are thinking twice about "God" who needs his creations to make up excuses for him about what he chooses to do or not.

It is good to have faith. Religion like christianity gives people good morals, but causes a lot of war.

I thing ther is no god and i think religion is a why to say to people that this is the best way to live.
If you look in every religion they say how you shuld live and what you shuld belive.
A life is wery big and long (mostly) so if you dont know what to do whit it ask some one like a prist and then he can tell you how to live so you dont have to figure it out by your self.
Humans love to be told what to do so they dont have to think by them self.

That choice is all up to you. I think I know what you are trying to say tho, I believe in God, (born Presbyterianism (That's fucking ridiculous to spell)), but I have feeling against the church itself, not God but the man made system of church. Hmm, but in the sense if its better... I would say it would be only because it provides another pillar of support to your foundation, but if it is your only pillar of support, that is where it becomes a problem.

Well I personally dont beleive in a god itself. A true righteous god who allows so many lifes spenldors into our lives also created the starting points for such evil in a our world. I know god in the supposed creation of our universe never intended such things to happen, but they still happen. I dont beleive in god per say, but I do beleive in something higher then us is watching us. We've only explored 00.02 of our entire solar system. For us as humans to say were the ONLY life in all of existence, and that we KNOW the one entity created us, seems just cocky to me, but then again thats just my opinon.. It would be similar to a ant walking around a entire rural neighborhood block only to find no one outside.

God, for me is a guy who just friggin watches from above and does nothing at all to help us and it seems to me that if he does exist then he's only helping either a select few people or it's just us who worked hard and not him...

God..the one who created the world the human the life...i don't belives this..i don't even believe in heaven and hell...i began to know that science is the real god....when i was just a kid i believed in god..my faith was strong..but it seem like my faith gave me lot of pain in my lifetime..my faith vanishes my things that i don't want to lose...i i begin to question my faith and now eventually..i hav lead my own life..i don't trust the one in the above or the own the below..i follow science which shows proof...of world,human and life...if there was soo called god...and there would be evil too..and there would be magic and fantasies..but we ar normal just like the science explain...we are human born from a tiny oragnism to a multicellulars..hehehehe...believe science and u will get the proof of life...

Personally, I don't believe in God as an individual entity, in the way that religion portrays it. Gods of religion are based upon superstition and restricted knowledge. "God" is an entity, as far as the whole of existence is considered as such.
The concept of God in religion is a creation of man. Anyone that has lived among other people for any amount of time can recognize the existence of God within themselves and others.

I believe in God, but I will be the first to admit that with religion, and politics for that matter, that the idiots get the airtime. A lot of the good parts of religion gets drowned out by the one nut job that waves his sign the hardest and shouts the loudest.

I for one believe in God, and I am born and grow in religion that so many people today say chaotic and seek to spread terror. But well, my reason to believe in God is like it or not comes from the nature of my religion. It like a lego, there are so many pieces and with right combination you can find how peaceful, great, and awesome it is; lead you to believe in God. But as the current news show us, wrong piece may result in turning pen in to sword; lead to chaotic and blood bath. Ah, and I also must add that the reasoning also come from my country with its diverse culture and race. In short, my believe in God comes from my choice to pick certain piece of lego (whether it is my religion's piece or country's piece) and find it right. But as my religion also speak, "Mine is my right and yours is your right" I can't force you, just give a hint that it doesn't come from anyone advice, but come from your desire and choice, basically in my perspective, everyone is the one.
Anyway, I can't simply say I am right, right? After all the pieces that I gather is base on personal incalculably experiences. One last thing, about my stance of science: Every science that far above its time will be called magic, thus every strange phenomenon will be answered by science, or acceptable by science one day. There are no such thing like unexplainable by science, there are only thing that we don't know the knowledge. The piece that pick makes me come to a realization science isn't against religion, science isn't a religion, science is God's power, science is how God touch, change, shape, and interact with the world. And as my religion said that God is awesomely fair and my country normal motto is "let's take the positive side of a negative event", when a disaster struck, shall there are two people, one pray other struggle to survive, the who will alive is the one that struggle (though we don't count people who struggle and pray at the same time, as it obvious in my stand)
Just a long advice from mine.

If there is a god he acts in ways we will never be able to see or understand. Every good person could have been guided by god to become who they are, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions could be being prevented as we speak by god. You can't know god does nothing, no one can but god.
You can believe in a god and an afterlife without it effecting your life at all. Just because you are having a crisis of faith with one particular teaching doesn't mean god doesn't exist. Holy books are imperfect reflections of the will of god, they represent the god that was needed a long time ago, in a time when the world was more chaotic. They have been adapted by humans to suite there needs and even if the words have not changed the interpretations of every single verse in them can change from person to person.
Neither way is better. Believe in god if that makes you happy and those you love happy as well. If it doesn't, then find a way of life that does. The way that makes you happy, thats the one thats better.
