I can speak Japanese, but I cannot read it. My listening skills are bad too.
How do people enjoy Kanji in games and doujins anyways? To me it's kinda like egyptian where kanji are simply symbols which mean things... So how exactly is it interpreted in speech?
I'm Sorry but Kanji is Technically Chinese~ One brief history- Chinese Characters come from Picture in the early centuries then later simplified as time passes.
Japanese was introduced the Chinese Character Via Korea at the 4th Century A.D as the Japanese do not have a writing on their own, hence the Japanese using them in their Language.
I understand that Chinese character are hard as I, myself, is a Malaysian Chinese. We have to learn the strokes and the meaning and the pronunciation of it.. which is a pain in the ass.
Chinese Characters have more meaning than any other language in my opinion. It is because it symbolize the word. For example, Forest, which have a lot of trees in it. The character for forest is 森林. The character already tells you that there is a lot of trees in a forest. The reading maybe different as both Japanese and Chinese uses these Characters for their Language.
I don't mean to brag or anything. I am just telling you the facts.
Peace out.
