Would you date that pornstar or stripper you like?

meh. Not what I was going for. I'm just thinking that its better to discuss both questions than to argue over which to answer. Didn't aim to offend.

Our argument got a little silly there in the end but maybe for the first and only time in my life, I'll agree with him. The argument started, as I recall, from an interpretation I made regarding the question in the thread which is ambiguous in the sense that it asks two or three different things.

And, I'm sorry, but if you think it is «better to discuss both questions than to argue over which to answer» you are certainly failing to carry it off because you don't answer if you would date THAT pornstar or stripper you LIKE. You only answer one of the questions which is the generic one about a random pornstar or stripper.

I raised that point because it seems to make it more difficult when you imagine a person you care about as opposed to a random one.

I think that it's only unfair if a male has a lot of sex and yet does not want to date a woman who has a lot of sex. So if a male is a pornstar, it is unfair for him to judge a woman based on her sexual history.

If it is a guy that does not have sex, then I think it is fine if he desires a woman who also does not have sex.

In the end I the end I think of the principle "do upon others as you wish for yourself". It also depends on the specific person and their values. But it is not okay to judge someone for their sexual history, or their lack of it.

A stripper is OK, pornstar is a no.

I'd go to say that it depends on your perception of the jobs. If you find it offensive don't date a stripper or a pornstar.

If she chose the job, respect the choice, and talk about it with her. Support her in the job she's chosen or been forced to choose. If she was forced (student loan or some other dilemna) then talk about how she can get out of it.

If you really love a person for who they are...well they aren't their job, not entirely, so I don't see a problem there.

And as you said, would women date a gigolo? Yes and no is the answer.

No i wouldn't date a stripper or pornstar, long-term or not. I just wouldn't.

And men who fucked more women then they read books are not good dating material either.

lol her reasoning makes no sense:
- Men are hypocritical/assholes because they wouldn't date a stripper/pornstar (s/p)
- we shouldn't care because it's work

- first of all, she doesn't explain how it's hypocritical. If a man says he doesn't want to date a S/P, and actually follow's through, he isn't a hypocrite
- men are assholes because he know's what he wants / has standards?
(+ she doesn't even say anything about not knowing the pornstar/stripper as a PERSON, not just by their body. Maybe the S/P is a nice person and can cook well :D)

Well it looks like someone came through, didn't like this discussion, and -1'ed everybody. Thinking I'll come through and get everyone but myself back up, while I don't know how much importance the rep system has, people don't deserve to get blanket -1'ed. (Edit: Done. Thankfully, I don't have to worry about this too much- I have absolutely no interest in porn stars and find "professional" actors to be disgusting and fake. :P
