Would you risk your life for a friend? A serious approach

For me right now, the answer is no. I haven't found a friend who's really worth dying for. However, i would risk my life for my mum.

Not gonna do it. Risking my life for a friend than a loved one? That friend of mine might even stab me on the back in the near future. The meaning of a friend to me is someone that I have met 10 times max. Including hanging out and stuff. If I don't trust him enough I will leave him to die than to save him. I don't care either if that friend leaves me behind. It's how I treated that so I am expecting the same.

Im not the type of person to risk my life for someone else, My own fathers told me that im a "Mercenary" and that id only risk myself for my own gain. (Friends have joked about being in 'life threatening situations' before and they always claim that id steal their wallets and phones before calling the ambulance so apparently im a total cunt) Lol~

If my friends were in trouble (I.E Wolf Creek) They're on their own!!

You know, sometimes it's you who make the impression that this/that person is worth saving. It just slaps you silly when you're the only one who thinks you did good but not the other party. Risking your life isn't worth a damn to a friend that was dead set on using you from the very start. What's worse is that when that friend of yours calls for help, it's on a crucial moment of leaving someone more important than him/her.

Considering I suffer from suicidal thoughts I don't really know if my opinion counts..
But in general, yes.
For a close friend I'd sacrifice myself in any way including death, for normal friends I'd do the same but there would be doubt.
I'd sacrifice myself for strangers aswell, esspecially if it would be a kid.
Even those I hate and can't stand.. I'd atleast try to save them :)

hmmm... probably no, since life is a bit to much for them especially if your life not for yourself anymore... like people who are dearly raising their families (whether their children or parent) and losing your life might end up losing their's. I don't mind though helping a friend/others with the best I could do. If risking then losing my life for a friend would cause a greater negative impact for others(family), then no.

Friend is a very light term with me. I have plenty of "friends". To me however, that means I would beat you with a pool ball and take your wallet for shits and giggles if I was in the mood. People I truly love though, I regard as family. I would take a bullet for anyone who manages to make it into my VERY small family.

It depends really. I did risk my life for my friends once when we were being jumped by thugs with guns (namely by tackling the youngest-looking guy onto the ground) and it was no laughing matter.

I'd give my life for my family though :)

To be honest, I would only risk bodily harm and not death when saving my friend. You can't just go around dying for others as if you can respawn after death. You have to know that regardless of who you are, sometimes saving others is just beyond your power and dying in the process is just a meaningless waste of life. Death can come at anytime, you might even suddenly perish while fapping to vanilla in this site.

IMO i think this is more of a moment decision than a decision that you could made whenever you want to.Honestly,i don't know if there're anyone in this world i really want to risk my life for,i don't have so many friends whom i don't even know so well to die for and im not that close to my family as well,rarely talk to my parents cuz we don't get along but most likely even if i did not want to,i probably would try to save them and i would try being careful when doing it but it also not a big deal to me even if i have to put my life into danger cuz like what Gubi said there's no greater honor than save a life and if i could somehow survive after that i would live till the death come to without regret anything at least.

Just like Bearaham Lincoln (badass name by the way) said, I have plenty of "friends" but I would like to say that I have to three best friends that I would consider family. So those types of friends who are willing to stick their necks out for me will get the same from me and hell even more. Same goes for my family. It's a cold world now and days so it's very difficult to just take a bullet for someone you consider a "friend".

Now for complete a stranger(s) that's a different story. If it's a kid then yeah. I mean hell I'm 22 I'm already a (young) adult and the if kid is around 5 to 10 or 13 or whatever is younger than me then yeah I would...but if the kid is prick then I'm going to make sure his a$$ repays me back...with kindness...or money which ever I feel like. Joke of course.

I believe a good question is what if an elderly around his/her 60's or 70's was about to get shot (or something bad happens etc.). Would you take a bullet for him/her even though they are getting to that "point"? My answer would probably be I don't know. I want to say yes but at the same time I want to say whatever happens, happens. If you look at it from a heroic view point then that's good because you saved a life but looking at it from a different logical perspective it doesn't seems wise or smart or whatever you want to think of it as. Just think about it, a 22 year old young adult willing gave his life up for someone who is close to dying...it's like you have to choose to be the smart guy (an ass/coward) or the good guy. Unless you can do both and through something or someone in front of the bullet or whatever is going to happen to the old dude/gal.

Would you risk your life for a friend, regardless of how he sees you or how he acts to you?

My answer:
Yes, bcuz it gives me the satisfaction of being able to do good in life. I seek nothing in return from him/her, so why should his/her opinion about wanting to do the same matter. Well...that's in my opinion anyways.

I doubt it, and I also doubt that any of you actually would, if put to the test, actually risk your life for someone else.

Ofc there are a number of parameters to consider, but I'll assume most of you have a decent understanding of what kind of situation is implied.
