[ALICESOFT] [ENG]Daibanchou! -Big Bang Age-

I just finished everything there is to this game(minus yuki clear and "her" CG because yuki-cleo event is bugged and won't trigger for me and I didn't want to bother to start over just for yuki's CG).

Some comments:

- Kunagi route is easiest and the best, story-wise IMO(dodge everything and hits hard = best heroine).
- Game gets much, much easier as you clear chacters for next play through(especially at the start of 2nd+ games, which is arguably the only hard part of the game).
- Chaos mode was an utter disappointment. I expected something extremely challenging and lots of fun, based on when I first tried it(got my ass kicked badly), but once you conquer the neighboring areas around your natural base, the enemies run out of juice or something...(To clarify, the enemies basically use what seems to be the strongest characters to defend the immediate neighboring areas when you first start, making it stupid-hard. After you beat those, it's a joke). There also doesn't appear to be much of a story at all(intermission almost doesn't exist other than to introduce factions) and some super secret reward(or so I thought, based on the intro to chaos mode) seems to... not exist? Not sure, because the ending wasn't/isn't translated when I beat the game.



Would appreciate it if anyone could tell me what exactly the point of chaos mode is, because it definitely isn't fun(I admit, the first ~10 turns is extremely fun in a challenging way). Also, is there an actual reward of some sort as hinted in the intro? The dog says something along the lines of "there might be some reward if you beat it."

Did you collect all the buttons BEFORE fighting the last boss?

Interrogating releases the prisoner for a chance at an item(for the most part, anyway). One interrogation almost always loses you the prisoner(some of the later captures take quite a few interrogations and wield no better rewards).

That being said, yes, you have to either reload a saved data or restart if you want Daigo badly enough. You don't have to attempt to recruit him exactly twice; You can simply try to recruit him up to 99 times and it'd give you exact same conversation as the 2nd attempt and have no effect whatsoever, allowing you to achieve the condition required to recruit.

So in conclusion:
1. Never interrogate characters you want to recruit.
2. Don't be afraid to choose the "recruit" option up to 98 times should it be necessary to buy you time(since you can't "skip" the prison phase; you have to choose an option every time it comes up).
3. only interrogate crap characters. Reloading gives you different reward every time and it is possible to reload a bunch of times and receive an item "every time" you interrogate. I've done this myself when I thought I needed every edge there is on my 1st play and got 5 items out of 5 interrogations by... reloading about ~200 times. Looking back, I'm not sure if it's worth it.

So I downloaded the game from the megaupload links in the OP, and used Aroduc's translation patch, but for some reason the game still only displays in Japanese, and my somewhat tenuous grasp of the language is nowhere near good enough for me to play without an english patch.

I basically unzipped the Big Bang Age stuff into a folder, used Daemon Tools to mount the .mds file, installed the game into the same folder I'd unzipped stuff in, then unzipped the Alpha patch into there (Graphical first, then text).

Is there something I've done wrong that I need to fix? I really want to play this game, so help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Alternatively, could someone provide the /h code for this game so I can use Atlas/Translation Aggregate/AGTH on it?

um... it has been like that for at least 10 years, probably longer but i haven't been into anime/vn for that long; where it's a dichotomy of japan and the us/britian where one is the foil of the other
