Tell me about it. I've been following F/SN translation from Mirror Moon since they started the damn project >.<!!!!
The HF translation status thread is pretty funny though nowadays. It's all about the Crimson Moon. Rumor has it when the moon on the F/SN main page turns crimson they will release the patch. I mainly started Chaos;Head because I wanted to get away from the whole: ZOMG DID THEY RELEASE IT TODAY... ah no they didn't crap!
Anyways I'm past the FATED chapter 2 crash w00t! Storyline is pretty sick... The main character has SERIOUS issues.

Yeah i read about that crimson moon-theory too, pretty nice to know what it is (or could be atleast) since i didn't know what the point of it was the last time i saw it.
I think im gonna start playing Chaos;Head, seriously need a new VN to play, im bored out of my mind...
But if i do that i swear the HF route is gonna get released, and i can't focuse on CH if i know HF is out lol :?

Don't let a buggy last chapter keep you waiting, unless they screwed up in a later patch, or you just happen to be one of those unlucky few, it should work. It was flawless for me with the exception of a few untranslated lines and some scary cases of 'text dissapearing after it has been printed', just like before the chapter 2 crash. Not that anything crashed after that.

No crashes so far lol, but im still in the first chapter.

So after going to the Irc channel of the actual team I got a great way to get up to date patches not complicated at all if you already installed the first patch that was linked in the original post. This patch is pretty much bug free up to chapter 10. (project is about 96% complete)1. Download and install TortoiseSVN (Windows)
http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads
2. Right click in an Explorer window (in a folder, you understand)
3. Go to TortoiseSVN -> Repo-browsr
4. URL: http://svn2.assembla.com/svn/kaosheddo
5. Navigate to folder.
6. Right click on wanted folder on the left
7. Copy to working copy...
8. Put it all somewhere.
After installing SVN you'll be able to replace your .nss files easily and since it's updated directly from their directory it's pretty much fail safe and much faster than downloading patches and such.
If you got any questions please ask.
Now I'll go enjoy this game bug free: at least untill chapter 10 part b I heard.

A lot more in depth plot and much more details concerning the characters. The anime usually leaves out some "routes". Like the F/SN anime was only representing the Fate route and left UBW and HF out of it.

Just wondering how far are you guys into the game?
I like it so far but I hate how the main character reacts to everything he's a useless wimp. He makes me laugh though most of the time...
But I think it's sad to have a protagonist be so pathetic >.<.

I just reached the second chapter yesterday before i hit the sack, gonna resume teh playing when im done checking out all mah forums.
And i agree with you bout the main-character, he kinda pissed me off lol.
He takes the 2d complex to another level...

just install like the other one
dont forget to Set Unicode and language to Japanese
i know it works there 3 or 4 spots where it jumps back to japanese txt
dont use this with any other english patch also it slow to install so give it time
i know this one works played the game and already uninstall im not the maker of this i just found it from someone who found it and so on no virus was found with my scan
i dont know if there any problems with ch1 i used it from a saved file right before the crash in ch2

I personally loved Takumi in all stages.
He is smart, he has realised how rotten the world is, he has made himself a god in his game. His paranoia may be more of a healthy preserving mechanism than a misantrophic reaction. He also got his delusions with audio and visuals to keep him happy.
I'd much rather have his paranoia than some other deluded ideas of significance of ones life, that basically every human share and certainly other protagonists.
Also, his passive life really sets the creepy mode. All you can do is wait helplessly for the next incident, while being haunted by paranoid fantasies. The best thing is how you both want and not want these incidents to happen, as you both want to get clues on what is real and what has happened so far, while wishing for Takumi to keep on living his happy life.
You can't really have these great games with a generic "AWESOME" main character.

Just finished the game and i'd say it was pretty damn epic :P
Biggest flaw was Taku and his constant faggot-whinning, i just wanted to punch him in the fuckin head.
Have a few CG's left though, so i'll have to run through it one more time or so.
Oh, and the game didn't crash or give me any problems what so ever, so use the anti-fail patch i posted in the OP, it works like a charm.

Not being a romantic game, I didn't really think much about it when playing. I will have plenty of time to think about it during the anime, I suppose. However, as I clearly was awake during the playthrough, I can atleast give some spontaneous opinions.
