Getchu Description: Tomoya Okazaki is a third year high school student who dislikes his life. However, Tomoya finds that his life is about to change when he meets Nagisa. Tomoya's mother (Atsuko) died when Tomoya was young, leaving his father (Naoyuki) to raise him. After the accident, Tomoya's father turned to alcohol and gambling, and held frequent fights with his son. One day, Naoyuki, again arguing with his son, slammed Tomoya against the wall, dislocating Tomoya's shoulder. Ever since then, his father has treated Tomoya nicely, but distantly, as if Tomoya and he were strangers rather than a family. This hurts Tomoya more than his previous relationship with his father, and the awkwardness of returning home leads Tomoya constantly to stay out all night. Additionally, the injury disables Tomoya from participating in his basketball club, and pushes him to distance himself from his school and other activities. Thus his delinquent life begins. Tomoya's psychology is further developed in his dreams of a bleak world. In the first few dreams of that kind, he sees a world which is devoid of all people except for this one girl, whom is never shown but is spoken of. Each time he dreams he finds out more about the world. Later on, Tomoya finds out that the girl has a special ability to fuse junk together to create new things, with which she creates a body for him. Thus he is reborn in this world, and fills time following the girl around. Tomoya conceives that only the two of them are "alive". Setting: The first half of the story takes place at a high school in Japan, which is the best school in the city where the story takes place. This high school is largely modeled after the University of Tsukuba-affiliated junior-high and high school Komaba in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan. Throughout the story, glimpses into an Illusionary World are shown. This world is devoid of all life except for a young girl, though she later makes a body out of junk pieces through which the player can interact with her. The remaining half of the story takes place in the same city, albeit ten years after the conclusion of the first half. Read the READ ME! file for how to install the voices and English Patch. Im new to downloading games this way, I have all the peices from mega-upload, all the voice and text patches and the CG set all in there zip files. What to I do with all the peices?

you put them in the same folder, then right click and click "extract". This can be done with a program like Winrar, Winzip or 7zip. It'll join the files together.

Okay, next problem (sorry) within the folder containing the extracted files there are three folders:
-CG set
-CLANNAD
-Clannad_voice_patch
the CG set has all the game photos, the CLANNAD folder contains a file called CLANNAD.cdi (dont know what program to use for this) and Clannad_voice_patch contains a reed-me note and a zipped file containing all of the files needed for the english translation.
My question is what do I do from here to make the game work?

My only semi simple question. Does anyone know how to make it work with Aplocale? as changing it to Japanese and restarting, then changing back later and restarting gets kind of old. I'll do it if I have to. But when I try using Aplocale with the game, it dies just like I tried running it in English, instead of running it in Japanese.

But again, if I can't use Aplocale, so be it. Just a minor annoyance is all.

Try this program called NTLEA

pretty much it does what you want.
run NTLEA first and make sure its configured to Japanese locale then run ntleac and in the pop-up locate your REALLIVE.exe and click open
I've actually haven't had to use it again afterwards, it just remembers for some reason. You can also enable the shell command when you right-click an exe to show "open with ntlea" in the ntleac

well...you can try what nach put, but i wanna ask...why don't just change the comp to japanese permanently? i do so with my vista and i don't get any problem with the english programs i'm using...

Dunno... last couple times I did, after a couple-a-few weeks my comp would start acting up, eventually more and more errors and crashes till it was time to reformat as it wouldn't run. Whilst I don't really mind reformatting, I also need to find a solution for a buddy of mine who I am starting to warp into playing some of these VN's...

A) is the above the one that's available for download here?
b) when i start up the game it always foes into 640x480 full screen mode, and when i go to the config screen, it is empty and i cant leave, so i have to firse it to shut down. is this meant to happen?

B) When I played this version, that wasn't supposed to happen. One of those japanese-worded buttons switched fullscreen and back but I forgot which.

Excuse me, I downloaded this game and did everything the README! file asked me to do but I don't get any voice in my game. Can someone tell me what to do?

I have already downloaded all of adarac's links...
so to make it English trans i have to copy paste the SEEN.txt in the 1st page to the folder?
if i didn't wrong....
to have a voice patch what should i do?
