Getchu Description: Tomoya Okazaki is a third year high school student who dislikes his life. However, Tomoya finds that his life is about to change when he meets Nagisa. Tomoya's mother (Atsuko) died when Tomoya was young, leaving his father (Naoyuki) to raise him. After the accident, Tomoya's father turned to alcohol and gambling, and held frequent fights with his son. One day, Naoyuki, again arguing with his son, slammed Tomoya against the wall, dislocating Tomoya's shoulder. Ever since then, his father has treated Tomoya nicely, but distantly, as if Tomoya and he were strangers rather than a family. This hurts Tomoya more than his previous relationship with his father, and the awkwardness of returning home leads Tomoya constantly to stay out all night. Additionally, the injury disables Tomoya from participating in his basketball club, and pushes him to distance himself from his school and other activities. Thus his delinquent life begins. Tomoya's psychology is further developed in his dreams of a bleak world. In the first few dreams of that kind, he sees a world which is devoid of all people except for this one girl, whom is never shown but is spoken of. Each time he dreams he finds out more about the world. Later on, Tomoya finds out that the girl has a special ability to fuse junk together to create new things, with which she creates a body for him. Thus he is reborn in this world, and fills time following the girl around. Tomoya conceives that only the two of them are "alive". Setting: The first half of the story takes place at a high school in Japan, which is the best school in the city where the story takes place. This high school is largely modeled after the University of Tsukuba-affiliated junior-high and high school Komaba in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan. Throughout the story, glimpses into an Illusionary World are shown. This world is devoid of all life except for a young girl, though she later makes a body out of junk pieces through which the player can interact with her. The remaining half of the story takes place in the same city, albeit ten years after the conclusion of the first half. Read the READ ME! file for how to install the voices and English Patch. Uhm. Question. In my game, for some reason.

Furukawa's name is replaced with a "," , and when Furukawa says "Tomoya" that gets replaced with "No Valid String, Make a Ticket About it".

Is that a bug with installation? It's not hard to figure out sentences, but if possible I'd like to remove this obstacle. Sorry for necrobumping.

Same thing happened with mine too, but it's sad to say that the problem lies with the English patch itself. So all we could do is just sit back and wait for a properly furnished version of the English translation patch.

Oh and if memory serves me right, i downloaded the game using this thread a while back and the copy i got was wherein there were no voice playbacks. So you may want to download the latest patch here.

I know this is 2 months late, but if you're still wondering why that happens, it's because the translation was(and still isn't) fully tested or even complete in some places. However Doki subs have announced they are taking over the project and will be finishing it asap.

@MrShadowzs I figured the translation wasn't quite done as I noticed even when i changed the name it would occasionally revert to the default in the dialog, not that you were answering a question of mine or anything lol

It's always been patched for a while now. There are slight system errors if you read my post on this page, a few posts up. But it's nothing game-breaking, you won't miss a thing. It doesn't last forever either, it'll fix itself eventually down the road.

So it seems that Clannad is finally getting an English release.
Sekai Project just put up their Kickstarter campaign today and it's almost 70% funded already.
